The Documentation team is responsible for maintaining and improving our documentation site, which is used daily by our customers to understand and use the Coveo solution to its full potential. During this internship, you will be responsible for strengthening and updating articles which appear on our documentation site.
Do you enjoy enhancing translating technical code and writing out its content for clients to understand easily? If you’re looking to dive into the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) world and perfect your skills, which include: conducting in-depth analysis, testing products, and writing articles in a cohesive manner; this opportunity will challenge you!
What your typical day would look like:
- You start your day off with a team meeting (scrum), you give an update of what you have been working on and listen in on what others are working on, elevating each other by sharing innovative ideas.
- You’re then assigned your next task. You take time to understand the feature by reading public and intern documentation. Since you can’t find all the information you need, you meet a developer to pick their brains. Next, you edit the documentation and send it to your teammates for review.
- After lunch, you review the feedback you received on the task you completed yesterday. You apply your reviewer’s suggestions and publish your work to the documentation website.
- The day is coming to an end! Before heading out, you attend the team’s monthly guild meeting to discuss issues encountered, improvements that could be made to the documentation site, new tools and practices to try, and more. You chime in with your opinion on the topic of the day.
Here's what will qualify you for the role:
- You are currently enrolled in either a journalism, professional writing, or communications program with a minor in computer science.
- You have experience conducting in-depth research analysis; either in an academic or professional setting.
- You hold excellent writing skills in English; you aspire to be a technical writer.
- You have a strong sense of ownership; always finding ways to learn and keeping up with current trends.
- You’re proud of what you create; you strive to grow and are results-driven.
And the cherry on top that will make you stand out:
- You’ve completed an internship in a similar role.
- You’re curious by nature, you’re not afraid to ask the right questions to get a thorough understanding of your tasks.
- You like to take initiative and you’re looking to develop your autonomy!
- You have great organizational and time management skills.
