This is an exciting opportunity to join our Trading Platform Development team where you will ensure that business projects are analyzed, implemented and managed as efficiently and professionally as possible, support Centrica Energy to its targets to grow the business and sustain a cost-effective operational platform.

Within the field of software development, this in an exciting position, and a position you can sculpt to your liking. As a Technical Project Manager, you have a natural drive to lead projects from the technical side, understand complex Energy Trading setup, and interest of working with stakeholders with strong vision to drive innovation, efficiency and digitization agenda. We use JIRA for key project management tasks.

The role  

In this role you will manage implementation of a greenfield project working with Business Analysts, Developers across locations in UK and Denmark and partnering effectively with COO organization. You will have to demonstrate and perform very effective stakeholder management of the delivery, which includes running various meetings and forums, keeping track of dependencies by working closely with other projects.

Key accountabilities: 

  • Regular management of the project, deliveries, releases, audits, etc.

  • Regular management of dependencies with stakeholders and COO.

  • Tracking plan closely along with COO team and ensuring that plan is always reflective of the status with known risks and issues.

  • Ability to identify ways to mitigate risk to the delivery to ensure delivery is on plan and target and in the approved budgets.

  • Prepare reports for upper management as needed regarding status of project.  

  • Identify and involve the right resources in the project.  

  • Evaluate project process and lessons learned.  

About You  

We are looking for a team member who has excellent organizational skills including attention to details and multi-tasking skills. It is important to be able to work independently, have great problem-solving skills and be willing to take on responsibility to drive change management.  

We expect that you, 

  • Have a relevant education with interest in computer science and 5 to 6 years of relevant industry experience

  • Can deliver high quality solutions, within tough budget targets and timelines

  • Work closely with BAs and Developers and collaborate with Business and COO teams

  • Have relevant experience of working with various delivery tools and presentations

The ideal candidate has:  

  • Significant technical project management experience in a complex, dynamic and highly technical environment 

  • Hands-on with project management tools like JIRA, boards, scrums, etc. to ensure it is aligned to the delivery

  • A good understanding of what it takes to drive and implement projects and change in a large organization

  • Experience of working closely with ETRM type products either inhouse or vendor platforms
