Technical Designer(s) (full-time, multiple openings) needed in San Francisco, California to consult with clients to determine functional and spatial requirements of structures, and plan layouts of structural architectural projects. Prepare information regarding design, structure specifications, and materials used. Perform predesign services, such as feasibility or environmental impact studies. Collaborate and communicate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, vendors and regulatory agencies to resolve complex technical and design issues to meet overall project objectives, and ensure builder compliance with design specifications, and advise on design corrections. Establish design standards, space planning, and programming based on clients' functional and spatial requirements while meeting conceptual design goals. Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design (graphic presentations, physical models, 2D/3D renderings), design development, construction documents and production for core and shell architecture projects.
Must have a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field, plus two (2) years of design experience (non-intern, non-fellowship) with all of the following:
(1) Translating an architect's sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images using Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, parametric design software, 2D/3D software, including AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino utilizing V-Ray, Enscape, Grasshopper, Miro, SketchUp, Illustrator, and InDesign;
(2) Participating in all project phases, including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction documents;
(3) Delivering concept and schematic design packages, including site analysis, design concept, design narrative, sustainability simulation tests, floor plans, sections, elevations, and photo-realistic renderings;
(4) Developing the design of the core and shell of a building, including the lobby, curtain wall system, elevator banks, internal/exterior staircases, core, bathrooms and terraces;
(5) Preparing full Design Development, Schematic Design, Construction Document sets in AutoCAD and/or Revit;
(6) Utilizing site surveys, design sketches, and other inputs to prepare digital architectural models using Revit and/or CAD based on BIM development standards;
(7) Performing environmental analysis to understand the daylighting required for the design of high-performance buildings; AND
(8) Façade development, entrance development and circulation strategy.
In the alternative, we will accept a Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field, plus five (5) years of progressive post-bachelor’s degree design experience (non-intern, non-fellowship). Two (2) years of the five (5) years of progressive post-bachelor’s degree design experience (non-intern, non-fellowship) must include experience with all of the following:

The base salary range is $111,114.00 to $115,000.00, commensurate with relevant experience. In addition, standard benefits will be offered, and employees will be eligible for bonuses.
