Primary Function

The Team Lead SBO Reporting is responsible for assisting analysts with reviewing data daily between SBO 2000 and the system of record. Additionally, they will research and resolve issues as well as maintain appropriate procedures. 

The Team Lead SBO Reporting will work directly with the investor reporting analysts to train the staff to understand the processes they are completing as well as any changes to existing processes.   Candidates must have strong communication skills and the ability to research and complete timely resolution to exceptions, including collaboration with internal business partners.

Principal Duties

  • Responsible for assisting staff with daily review of data between SBO 2000 and servicing system.
  • Understanding of cash flow as it relates to borrower payments and deposit to respective custodial accounts.
  • Knowledge of reporting and remittance; and/or, PI custodial reconciliations.
  • Researches and resolves data issues.
  • Maintains and follows procedures and controls within the monthly process.
  • Heavy use of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Handle ad-hoc reporting or research as directed by management.
  • Maintains and follows procedures and controls within the monthly process.
  • Possess an understanding of GSE servicing guides and a willingness to interpret pooling and servicing agreements.
  • Researches and resolves data issues, proposes solutions for future process enhancements.
  • Coordinate with the department's management to address issues identified so that reoccurring process issues can be remedied. 
  • Develops and enhances operational procedures.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to ever-changing business needs and requirements.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience Requirements  

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • 6+ years of Mortgage Servicing.  3+ years Investor Reporting experience preferred.
  • 2+ years SBO 2000 experience.
  • Advanced MS Excel experience required including pivot tables, Vlookups and other complex formulas.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements 

  • Proficient in MS Word and PowerPoint.
  • SQL or other database reporting experience preferred.
  • Servicing Director knowledge a plus.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, learn quickly, be flexible and think strategically.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with Senior Management and other business units.
  • Working understanding of operational risks and related controls.
  • Understanding of RegAB and USAP Guidelines.
