The Goal
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Manager to oversee all tax-related functions within OpenBet. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with international, federal, state, and local tax regulations, optimizing tax strategies, and managing tax-related risks.
What you’ll be doing
Tax Compliance and Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation and submission of accurate and timely tax returns, including corporate income tax, VAT/GST, and other relevant taxes across multiple jurisdictions.
- Ensure compliance with all international, federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Manage tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
Tax Planning and Strategy:
- Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax positions.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company.
- Provide strategic tax advice to other business functions, including reviewing revenue contracts for tax implications and input into stage-gate process.
Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate tax-related risks.
- Implement and maintain robust tax control frameworks and processes.
- Conduct regular tax risk assessments and develop action plans to address identified risks.
Financial Reporting:
- Ensure accurate tax accounting and reporting in financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., Prepare UK stat disclosure notes ).
- Alongside Financial Controller ensure the accuracy of VAT workpapers.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure proper documentation and reconciliation of tax accounts.
- Forecast tax liabilities including tax provision for the Group and cashflow implications.
- Advise and help implement revised Transfer Pricing Policies across OpenBet.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including finance, legal, and operations teams, to provide tax-related guidance and support.
- Liaise with tax advisors in other jurisdictions as necessary.
- Develop and deliver tax training sessions for relevant staff.
- Assist HR with payroll tax; where required.
The Player
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field; CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in tax management
- In-depth knowledge of international tax laws and regulations.
- Strong understanding of tax accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proven experience in tax planning, compliance, and risk management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
