About the role
We are looking for a Head of Enterprise Architecture who will be part of our technology organization. This person will be responsible for the overall technical architecture vision and technology roadmap for Corebridge Financial. The role is focused on understanding, applying, and governing existing and emerging technologies to optimize and transform our business. The successful candidate will be accountable for defining technology standards and championing their adoption across the organization. The Head of Enterprise Architecture will lead a federated architecture practice, directly managing a team of enterprise architects, as well as driving and influencing the overall architecture community, including business unit and domain architects. This role will partner with many areas of Corebridge Financial including our core insurance business units as well as other supporting functions like IT Security, IT Infrastructure, Procurement, Risk, Finance, Legal & Compliance and others.
We want to hear from you today if you have:
- Experience managing all components of a holistic enterprise architecture practice.
- Track record of creating technology roadmaps and driving the execution of those roadmaps across various teams.
- Experience designing and driving adoption of technology standards including relevant metrics to track progress.
- Knowledge of business ecosystems, Software as a Service (SaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), open data, microservices, event-driven IT, and predictive analytics.
- Experience balancing the outcomes of foundational architecture (Mode 1: renovating the core of the IT estate, ensuring efficiency and predictability) and vanguard architecture efforts (Mode 2: concerned with business and operating model design, technology innovation, speed, agility and flexibility) to achieve a unified and flexible Enterprise Architecture practice that meets the organization’s needs.
- Expertise with Cloud platforms (AWS preferred) including multi-Cloud environments. Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker, AWS ECS, and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and Enterprise Architecture and ITIL frameworks.
- Experience assessing disruptive forces impacting the industry and organization to identify technology innovation opportunities that enable the business strategy.
We are looking for
- 15+ years of experience in technology field / programming / application delivery; 5+ years managing teams.
- Experience managing IT budgets of $40M+ USD and coordinating efforts with other functional teams to execute projects that transform the business.
- Strong communications skills and ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences. Organizational fluency, cultural adaptability, critical thinking, and balanced decision-making ability.
- Excellent collaboration skills and ability to influence and work with diverse multi-functional teams, build trusted relationships at all levels of the organization and appropriately balance opinions and agendas. Performs well under pressure and deals effectively with conflict.
- Strong and practical problem-solving skills including exceptional analytical skills and working with others to leverage their opinions and expertise and creatively resolve issues.
- Strong business orientation and knowledge of operating models, financial models, cost-benefit analysis, budgeting, and risk management. Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Servant leader who creates a strong enterprise-wide culture of inclusion and respect. Ability to grow talent, motivate, and inspire as well as effectively manage team performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

For position based in Jersey City, NJ, the base salary range is $165,000 - $225,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. In addition, we're proud to offer a range of competitive benefits.
