Job Description
The post holder will be responsible for owning and managing the production plans and supporting purchasing for LGC sites. Working cross functionally and collaboratively with Customer service, Production departments and Warehouse function to balance customer requirements with capacities to maximise customer satisfaction while minimising inventory capital.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to capably perform each of the following essential functions:
- Maintain planning data and support the maintenance of purchasing data within ERP system.
- Produce production plans and lead weekly planning meetings to ensure production plans and priorities are communicated effectively.
- Effectively communicate production and supply changes to ensure relevant stakeholders can understand supply and availability dates.
- Monitor and report compliance to production plans via weekly KPIs.
- Carry out effective short term capacity assessments, issuing new plans to prioritise availability.
- Understand and translate forecasts into rough-cut capacity plans using IFS.
- Provide prompt updates on product availability to customer service.
- Analyse and establish inventory policies, taking demand/supply deviations and working capital targets into account.
- Highlight stock issues by monitoring finished good and purchased stocks.
- Investigating availability shortages and then implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and present monthly SIOP deck.
- Manage residual stocks to agree suitable actions plans with finance, local site and supply chain leads.
- Analyse reasons for late customer deliveries with respective local stakeholders and implement preventative actions.
- Effectively challenge opinions based on knowledge & experience, which will involve communicating an alternative solution to the issue being discussed.
- Provide weekly backorder reports and ensure latest ship dates are communicated.
- Maintain routings and structures.
- Support with NPD or strategical project initiatives.
- Develop skills in, and usage of ERP systems and Excel.
- Support in the improvement of planning data fields and implementation into manufacturing areas.
- Ensure there are documented procedures for all Production planning processes.
- Report on progress of work, problems encountered, and solutions implemented.
- Work flexibly to ensure each department/section works efficiently.
- Co-ordinate workload and support the objectives set by the Line Manager to ensure that operational objectives of the department are met and delivered within agreed timescales.
- Provide training support to other personnel within the company as required
- Identify training needs and raise these with your line manager.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of three-year(s) experience in Supply Chain Planning.
- Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in IFS ERP.
- Experience of working within a manufacturing business.
- Experience working within a mature SIOP culture.
