Ketjen Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Albemarle Corporation, is currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager.

The primary objective of the Logistics & Supply Chain Manager is to direct the materials, planning and logistic functions to ensure customer needs are satisfied. The role is responsible for all steps involved in getting materials from suppliers and products to customers. Activities include work associated with obtaining goods and services for all types of business processes; finished goods demand inventory planning and production planning & control to achieve targeted quality, wastage, and inventory levels; movement, storage, and inventory control of materials, finished goods, tools, and packaging materials; movement of materials and finished goods from origin to destination; import/export & customs management.

This role is also responsible to oversee onsite rail & trailer services for a multi-company site. This role is the coordinator for communications and scheduling across all companies located at the site.

Role and responsibilities

  • Oversee Logistics & Supply Chain department and employees (5-7 FTE utilizing supporting contingent workers);
  • Supervise purchase of production and/or non-production materials and coordinate suppliers to meet Company’s goals of quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Work with procurement on applicable supply & service contracts.
  • Set up raw material and product specifications in SAP as needed with collaboration from Quality Assurance, Operations, and Customer Service.
  • Planning/Scheduling suppliers/sub-contractors to maintain uninterrupted flow of materials including raw materials, components, sub-components and services from internal, local and overseas suppliers.
  • Identifying, notifying and managing potential shortages by planning and expediting internally and externally.
  • Liaising with freight forwarders for all coming materials from oversea suppliers and maintaining in-Transit Report for accurate online information for Customer Service.
  • Oversee local production scheduling, end of month processing, and inventory/production reporting in collaboration with Operations and Planners.
  • Managing inventory levels to optimum levels to achieve balance between customer service and working capital (over stock v/s stock outs).
  • Assume lead role for inventory management data in SOX audits.
  • Schedule packaging and shipping activities to ensure on time shipment and delivery.
  • Partner with delivery services to optimize product container fleet and warehouse use.
  • Responsible for Logistics & supply chain services for toller and warehousing activity associated with site (Tollers include, but not limited to, locations in LA, SC, TX, AR)
  • Partner with Quality Manager and ISO lead to ensure we consistently meet customer needs.
  • Create and optimize relevant budgets.
  • Review and approve purchase requisitions.
  • Support management team with all required reporting of data analysis. Prepare reports and presentations with clear and concise communication methods.
  • Oversee rail and trailer logistics with 3rd party service provider on multi-company site
  • Manage day to day communications between all companies on site.
  • Improve systems and processes to deliver greater efficiency and effectiveness of service for company and customers.
  • Any other related tasks as directed.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Broad supply chain/distribution/manufacturing knowledge

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of SAP or other ERP system
  • Proficient user of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Educational and / or Training Qualifications, Certificates and Licenses

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Business or a related discipline and 5-10 years of supply chain experience; or more than 10 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum 3-year supervisory or leadership role
