Supply Chain Planner
Huntsman is seeking a Supply Chain Planner supporting the Advanced Materials Division located in San Jose, Costa Rica. This position will report to the Supply Planning Manager.
In summary, as the Supply Chain Planner, you will:
Supply Planning:
- Own the global supply plan for her/his market’s portfolio
- Align manufacturing and warehousing by creating a supply network plan that provides clarity and alignment across supply-related functions
- Ensure inventory is distributed efficiently along the global network, in agreement with the regional demand planner
- Highlight whenever supply cannot meet demand to the demand planner and provide alternatives
- Deals with different sources of supply (manufacturing sites, procurement) and ensure supply plan is accurate and regularly updated to show properly volumes to be supplied on a 24m horizon
Inventory:
- Owns the inventory of her/his market’s portfolio across the global network
- Ensure inventory is used in the most profitable way for the company
- Highlight whenever inventory can be used in a more profitable way than the agreed demand plan
- Regularly checks slow-moving items and propose mitigation action plans
- Ultimately gives projection for the next 24m horizon of her/his market’s portfolio across the global network
Blocked stock & returns:
- Ensure blocked stock of her/his portfolio gets treated in a rapid manner (dump, rework, sell back…)
- Supports Customer Service on the return process and advise best solution for returned goods
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in Costa Rica.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent either in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering.
- Commercial exposure, proven track record in supply planning / production planning.
- Language skills: Fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese a plus.
- APICS or SCOR experience and SC knowledge required.
- SAP / ERP software process knowledge advantage.
- Knowledge and experience on S&OP or IBP processes beneficial.
Experiences:
- 5 years of professional experience in the field of supply and/or production planning, optimally in chemicals.
- Understanding of demand planning.
- Balancing of commercial priorities and operational capabilities.
- Strong knowledge in inventory management.
- Excellent and proactive communicator, connecting demand with supply side.
- High focus on data and metrics.
Know-how/skills:
- Excellent coordination, organization, and challenging skills.
- Strong communication skills to address issues and propose mitigating solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and team oriented.
- High analytical skills based on data.
- High digital literacy and high proficiency in major IT tools (SAP, Excel, PowerBI)
