Position Summary
The Strategic Public Safety Partnerships and Outreach Manager (Los Angeles), develops new LA area public safety partnerships and maintains current LA area public safety partnerships. The incumbent will build strong relationships with key individuals within public safety organizations and develop partnerships with organizations and industry associations known and unknown to National University. The goal of these relationships is to develop partnerships for National University’s Workforce and Community Education (WCE) Public Safety division, which will result in enrollment growth for the university by creating pathways for employees to become aware of National University’s program offerings and educational benefits.
The Strategic Public Safety Partnerships and Outreach Manager develops, establishes, and maintains strategic public safety partnerships to support National University’s mission and strategic initiatives; identifies new partnership opportunities; evaluates, analyzes, and formulates strategies for growth in public safety partnerships; identifies key individuals within target public safety organizations and develops methods for communicating with key individuals within the organization/s; provides high quality service to all constituencies of National University organizational partners, students, alumni, and community leaders; and exhibits the highest professional standards and ethical principles.
While this position is primarily responsible for supporting public safety partnerships in LA, the position also will require occasional support of other geographic regions and divisions within National University’s Workforce and Community Education (WCE).
The Strategic Public Safety Partnerships and Outreach Manager, Los Angeles, CA, is a key member of the Strategic Partnerships and National Outreach team. To be successful, the individual in this position needs to understand the following concepts:

There will be frequent travel throughout California, as well as occasional travel to other key markets in the United States.
Essential Functions:
- Develop new partnerships and manage existing partnerships with key LA area public safety organizations. These partnerships should lead to opportunities to regularly share information about NU programs with employees and increase NU enrollment.
- Regularly engage in LA-based public safety related activities, as a representative of National University, to build relationships with key public safety organizations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and account owner for LA public safety organizations, and support/manage partnership in other regions, as needed.
- Identify, attend, and participate in LA area regional and professional events, as a representative of National University, to create brand awareness, secure new partnerships, and generate inquiries from prospective students.
- Responsible for partnership contract management, vendor agreements, and invoices.
- Activate major accounts in the region.
- Develop opportunities to engage with partner agencies and increase enrollment.
- Secure high-profile sponsorships/partnerships with key professional associations in the region.
- Support the overall Workforce and Community Education (WCE) division.
- Effectively handle complex work initiatives and resolves highly complex issues.
- Contribute to the planning, organizing, and development of work processes, identifying and implementing team process improvements, and leading team projects.
- Responsible for ongoing revenue and new opportunity targets.
- Manage partnership relationships within Salesforce.
- Regularly meet with Marketing for the purpose of developing any needed marketing material.
Sales/Business Development:
- Contacts prospects (email, telephone, face-to-face, direct mail, and networking events) to schedule meetings and explain/answer questions and conduct presentations, lunch and learns, etc.
- Design and manage recruitment activities such as webinars, sponsorships, advertising, education fairs, trade shows, conferences, open house/information sessions, prospective student meetings.
- Develop an end-to-end understanding of business operations to promote new opportunities and identify potential barriers from inquiry to admit.
- Ensure timely responses to internal clients, external clients, and NU employees.
- Performs prospect research with continual prioritization of targeted organization and activities.
- Applies traditional and innovative sales techniques to gain business.
- Develops and executes partnership agreements and MOU’s that drive student interest and admissions.
- Project manage activities with organizations including newsletter submittals, presentation creation, website updates and links, flyers, etc. to ensure materials/advertising aligns to agreements.
- Project manage and follow through on enrollment activity to ensure client success and utilization.
- Meet and exceeds established quarterly business development/sales goals.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in the criminal justice or related field.
- Experience working in a LA area public safety organization required.
- Existing contacts/relationships with individuals in the LA area that can lead to criminal justice (police, courts, corrections) partnership opportunities highly preferred.
- Must reside in the greater LA area.
- Experience working with a diverse population.
- Experience entering student information into a CRM platform.
- Salesforce experience a plus.
- Experience in higher education preferred.
- Experience working with adult learners preferred.
- Experience working in a technology-driven enterprise preferred.

Candidate receiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensurate with experience that vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. Absent exceptional circumstances, candidates will be offered a salary within this range for this position. The minimum salary will be offered based on the minimum exemption threshold based on state of residency. Compensation Range:
Annual Salary: $70,092.00 - $94,622.00
