As a Staff Data engineer with expertise in Data design, Data engineering and a passion for building data-driven solutions, you’re ahead of trends and work at the forefront of AWS Cloud and Big Data technologies.

Here, you’ll be part of Chief Data and Analytics Office supporting Financial Crime Domain within bank & will be accountable for building & maintaining data solutions to fulfil the Group's Financial Crime Regulatory & Compliance Obligations.

Across our end-to-end cycle, you will be responsible for providing direction to data teams drawing from your ability to integrate diverse sets of data from multiple sources you will design, develop and build industry-leading group data products.

Your experience means you’re able to execute state-of-the-art coding practices, driving high quality outcomes to solve core business objectives and minimise risks. Communicating to technical and non-technical stakeholders across the business comes naturally to you.

Reporting into one of the Chapter Leads in our Chief Data and Analytics Office , you will be supporting Financial Crime domain within the group & will be part of a highly skilled, collaborative and culturally diversified Solution design team. This role would be ideal for an experienced Solution Designer with commendable recent experience working in data projects, along with a strong background in managing multiple stakeholder groups.

Specialised experience in designing & implementing solutions on Cloudera Hadoop ,Teradata & AWS cloud platforms will be highly essential for this role. You will come with a strong blend of skills in data design, data engineering along with a commendable exposure in implementing end-to-end Data solutions both in Big Data & Cloud platforms.

• Are passionate about building Next Generation Data platforms and data products across the bank.

• Have experience in solution design(ETL Design), solution governance and implementing end-to-end Big Data solutions using Hadoop eco-systems (Hive, HDFS, Pig, HBase, Flume, Kafka, Sqoop, YARN, Impala) and AWS ( S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena etc.)

• Have the ability to design Data Products and enterprise analytics-based solutions using Cloud, Bigdata or relevant data platforms.

• Can demonstrate expertise in design patterns (FSLDM, IBM IFW DW) and data modelling frameworks including dimensional, star and non-dimensional schemas.

• Possess commendable experience in consistently driving cost effective and technologically feasible solutions, while steering solution decisions across the group, to meet both operational and strategic goals is essential.

• Are adept with abilities to positively influence the adoption of new products, solutions and processes, to align with the existing Information Architectural design would be desirable.

• Have AWS Associate level+ certification.

Tech skills:

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team

• Data & ETL design experience in Big Data & AWS cloud platforms.

• Good understanding of AWS tools and strong design experience in building data solutions at enterprise level using Hadoop eco-systems,: AWS Glue, BI/Big Data/DW/ETL technologies such as Iceberg, Parquet and AVRO and AWS-native data services like EMR, Redshift.

• Expert in Data design and data architecture. Experience in Data modelling tools like Erwin.

• Demonstrated experience in designing ETL frameworks on Bigdata & AWS platforms at large scale.

• Are data enthusiastic in providing the solutions that source data from various enterprise data platform into data lake, using technologies like Scala, Python, PySpark; transform and process the source data to produce data products, transform and egression to other data platforms like SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata and AWS cloud platforms

• Are reliable in building group data products or data assets from scratch, by integrating large sets of data derived from hundreds of internal and external sources.

• Can collaborate, co-create and contribute to existing Solution & Data Engineering practices in the team
