Job Summary

The Sr. Trade Operations Analyst performs operational and analytical support of operations within a mortgage trading environment from deal origination through the lifecycle of the transaction including project management and business analysis support for the development of systems supporting the business, ad hoc reporting and surveillance of existing transactions in Arch Mortgage Funding (AMF). The Sr. Trade Operations Analyst works independently with limited supervision/oversight by management.

This position is open to remote candidates in the US, with a strong preference for those who can work EST hours. For candidates located near the Greensboro or Raleigh, NC offices, this role would be hybrid, with two days in the office.

Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1. Leverage mortgage trading knowledge to provide guidance and assistance in day-to-day responsibilities for funding, loan validation, and settlement activities.

2. Monitor and review of due diligence reporting.

3. Oversight of custodial collateral, pre-sale and post-sale release activities.

4. Interact on cash flow management with Treasury, Accounting and external constituents.

5. Review, validate and troubleshoot trade pricing at both the loan and pool level.

6. Purchase & Sale Funding Memo review, analysis and validation.

7. Purchase Advice review and approval.

8. Accountable for accurate and timely processing of wire transfers, tracking cash balances, performing account reconciliations and wire transfer research.

9. Mortgage servicing experience helpful.

10. Execute user acceptance testing strategies and plans to ensure results are acceptable and meet requirements. When necessary, lead the remediation of issues.

11. Using tools such as Excel, SQL, and others, directly query, assess and analyze data to ensure data warehouse and reporting accuracy.

12. Perform in-depth research and moderately complex analyses, addressing special transactions and exceptions.

13. Recommend new best practices to management and implement approved changes throughout the business unit.

14. Adhere to departmental policy and procedures while ensuring others in the department do the same.

15. Promptly escalate potential risks and exposures to management.

16. Utilize critical thinking, problem solving, and data management skills to enhance, develop, design internal and external processes and/or reporting.

17. Management and oversight of shared mailbox.

18. Foster environment that meets or exceed both internal and external service levels.

19. Cross functionally works with Secondary, Credit, IT, Sales, Treasury, Accounting, vendors and other constituents in a collaborative environment.

20. Support ad-hoc projects or new initiatives, coordinating with subject matter experts across various product areas and functions.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Knowledge & Skills:

1. Robust understanding of mortgage trading with 5-8 years of experience specifically within mortgage trade operations.

2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, SQL. Advanced proficiency in formulas and macros.

3. Strong experience working between multiple projects simultaneously, with varied degree of complexity and duration. 

4. Proven ability to meet deadlines.

5. A desire to learn and excellent problem-solving abilities.

6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education & Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in business or finance required or equivalent work experience.

2. 5-8 years of experience specifically within mortgage trade operations.

3. Hybrid work schedule – If located in proximity to Raleigh or Greensboro, NC requirement of 2 days in office (Tues & Wed) and then 3 days remote. Otherwise, remote work schedule.
