About the Role
You will be responsible for collecting, structuring, and monitoring the stakeholder requirements during the complete lifecycle processes. This position requires a broad background in automotive telematics and connectivity systems, as well as deep knowledge in one or more relevant product domains. This position leads system requirements development for assigned program(s)/domain(s) from a technical expertise base without having direct reports. Able to provide technical leadership, evaluate tradeoffs, resolve issues, and achieve technical solutions that meet stakeholder requirements. Must be able to communicate effectively and document the resulting product requirements. Serves as the technical interface for assigned program(s)/domain(s) for the customers in region Japan.
Your Team
The Engineer will report to the System Engineering Manager/Director and will typically be assigned to multiple projects. This position does not have any direct reports. Expected to lead assigned team members through matrix organization.
What You Will Do
- System Requirements technical Product Ownership for assigned programs (awarded programs and/or RfIs & RfQs):
- Analyze the internal and external requirements to capture clearly and concisely what is required of the product.
- Drive and own SRS requirements and traceability through Design, Development and Test .
- Identifies risk level associated with new feature development based on requirements status.
- Aware of relevant Federal Standards, industry standards and internal standards and ensures that resulting designs will satisfy these requirements.
- Drive reuse: Lead the development of reusable internal requirements, identifying synergies and opportunities for design reuse.
- Stakeholder management:
- Focal point for Requirements Engineering Technical topics for assigned program(s)/domain(s).
- Maintains organized repository of both customer and 3rd party requirements specifications.
- Supports the relevant organizations in the business development phase of a program as part of proposal activity, by analyzing customer RFQ specifications and developing technical impact analysis and compliance matrix.
- Process/Tools:
- Ensures compliance to ASPICE level 3.
- Identifies opportunities and makes recommendations for improvements in tools and process.
- Responsible for developing Requirements strategy for assigned program(s)/domain(s) in compliance with ASPICE.
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of working experience within requirements management.
- 5+ years of experience with Requirements Management Tool “DOORS”, Doors DXL script language and Doors exchange mechanism.
- Good knowledge of embedded software and system.
- Good knowledge of requirements management standard process.
- Excellent knowledge of RFI/RFQ process.
- Communication and moderation skills.
- Good English communication skills both written and verbal.
What is Nice to Have
- Qualification for requirements engineers, e.g., “IREB Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering”.
- Configuration management rules and tools especially baselining.
- Knowledge of process models (e.g., Automotive SPICE®).
