The Role and Responsibilities

  • Perform Scalability and Performance Testing to document the baseline numbers for the release
  • Publish Trend reports, and provide insights into the current state of performance of the system
  • Identify the system limits for every release and any behavioral changes in the product w.r.t product/feature performance
  • Assist Customer Success / Solution Engineering Teams in deriving appropriate performance numbers for the customer deployments, assist in resolving any escalations arising out of performance issues of the product
  • Collaborate with SysArch, Engineering, QA, Data Science, DevOps and Customer Success team(s) 
  • Collaborate with product architect/feature owners to identify NFR (Non-Functional Requirements) during the early stages of feature definition 
  • Self-driven, passionate, and constantly researching and suggesting the latest technologies

Qualifications

  • Strong Software development fundamentals, architecture and problem-solving skills 
  • Proficient with one or more Java/Python/JavaScript/Shell scripts and similar languages with solid scripting experience to build some quick tools to assist in performance testing
  • Good understanding of Performance testing and tools like JMeter, , Locust framework, K6 /Gatling or any other equivalent performance test tools
  • Good understanding of Monitoring tools such as Zabbix / Kibana /Graffana dashboards etc.
  • Experience working in Cloud-based (Linux/CentOS) environment and debugging skills related to performance testing issues like memory and CPU bottlenecks, multithreading etc.,
  • Good understanding of Dockers/Kubernetes, Microservices Architecture
  • Excellent communication, documentation, strong organizational, and interpersonal skills and attention to detail 
  • Passionate about keeping the product’s quality bar at an extremely high level at all times 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced agile work environment 
  • Exposure to defect management tools like JIRA 
  • Engineering degree in a related field

Nice-to-haves

  • Exposure to Cloud (AWS) based SaaS platforms 
  • Good understanding of the agile methodology and software development and test life cycle
  • Certifications in Performance Test Engineering
  • Experience delivering Tech Talks / Webinars with inteam/organization (not KT sessions)
