We are seeking a very experienced web merchandiser. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success growing e-commerce results through merchandising techniques on both web and app.  We need a leader who knows how to optimize the online shopping experience with a proven ability to increase key metrics including conversion and AOV. Significant opportunity for advancement for the right candidate who can help build our overall organizational strength in merchandising.

What you’ll do

  • Leverage data to optimize: Utilize web analytics (Adobe experience required) and sales data to monitor and optimize traffic, sources, audiences and conversion.
  • Continuous experimentation: Use AB testing tools, RTBs, offers and copy that speak directly to customer needs and desires. Clear, concise, and persuasive.
  • Product presentation: Manage how products are displayed on the website, including RTBs, language, images, descriptions, and categorization.
  • Capture attention: Use engaging visuals and compelling copy to capture attention. Highlight key products and promotions to drive engagement, interest and sales.
  • Build sales funnels, not just pages: Map the customer journey(s) and create clear paths that guide users from landing pages to checkout. This includes fast loading times and a mobile first approach.
  • User Feedback: Regularly gather and act on user feedback.
  • Promotional Activities: Partner with marketing and pricing teams to plan and execute online promotions, discounts, and special offers.
  • Personalization: Partner with marketing to infuse personalization and targeting capabilities into the website customer experience.
  • Market & customer research: Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to inform merchandising decisions.

Measuring Success

  1. Web and App Performance: The merchandising manager is focused on improving all of the following KPIs through merchandising activities
    • Conversion Rate 
    • Average Order Size
    • Time on Site
    • Bounce Rate
    • Lead capture rate
  2. Experiment effectiveness: measurable improvement from A/B experiments
  3. Customer Experience:
    • Net Promoter Score (NPS): Measure of customer satisfaction and likelihood to recommend the site.
    • Customer Feedback: Positive reviews and feedback on product pages and overall shopping experience.

Qualitative Measures

  1. Innovation: Implementation of new and creative merchandising strategies.
  2. Collaboration: Effective teamwork and communication with other departments.
  3. Adaptability: Ability to quickly respond to market trends and customer needs.


What you'll need

  • 5-10 years of experience leading cross functional teams in e-commerce and web merchandising.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Adobe analytics.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with A/B testing and data-driven decision-making.
  • Knowledge of the eyecare or contact lens industry is a plus.
