Role and Responsibilities

As a Sr. Manager at Samsung Ads, you are responsible for designing, building and maintaining the products and platforms that support and drive the hyper growth of the ads business and achieve our multi-billion-dollar annual revenue goals. You will partner with stakeholders to identify, ideate, and build solutions that solve our users’ pain points and drive business value. You are an autonomous, self-starter that can lead, inspire, and resolve ambiguity across many stakeholders and competing interests. You are organized, thorough, and detailed in being a trusted partner to business stakeholders and product managers to design and plan solutions that users love. You are comfortable in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment and can interface with teams spread across the globe.

The Sr. Manager, Business Strategy & Planning role will be responsible for working closely with global partners in Product & Engineering and NPS to build and execute highly effective processes for new product solution development, ensuring that there is a steady pipeline of new solutions that are properly explored, validated, codified into business requirements, prioritized and ultimately resourced and executed against within a development and release process. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for strategic initiatives that blend an understanding of market trends, competitive analysis, financial analysis, product strategy, and strategic planning to better shape the future of the business.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Key Responsibilities and Expectations
● Own and drive product planning and execution for key product/platform horizontals within the Samsung Ads ecosystem in partnership with domain product teams
● Work with global stakeholders and teams on effectively building and prioritizing their business requirements and long-term planning efforts
● Manage a continuous planning process with partners in NPS and Product Management globally to drive constant innovation, development of new solution initiatives, and support overall business goals
● Contribute to Annual Business Planning efforts, coordinating requirements and inputs from a variety of global sources and helping to consolidate and integrate various pieces of the process
● Create, maintain, and evangelize a compelling vision for product strategy across a portfolio of Samsung Ads product areas, considering mid-to-long term time horizons (i.e. 1-3 years)
● Evaluation of key market opportunities, competitive assessment, and industry trending through various modeling and analytical techniques
● Ad-hoc strategic projects as needed in partnership with key stakeholders
● Define goals and measurable success metrics for your product
● Be the subject matter expert across product areas, knowledgeable across strategic, technical and business aspects
● Partner with Platform Analytics to monitor product metrics and identify enhancements
● Prioritize features based on strategic and financial goals, and work together with domain product management to successfully plan, execute, and deliver against roadmap
● Make clear, concise trade-off decisions when competing priorities arise
● Communicate the strategy, plans and progress to stakeholders
● Foster a culture of trust, openness, collaboration and inclusiveness

● Technologically literate and able to be subject matter expert on your product
● Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills appropriate to audience and content
● Understanding of ad tech ecosystem or equivalency in adjacent area, ability to understand complex relationships across and between component areas

Technical Proficiencies (languages, tools, systems, etc.)

● Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, or equivalent product management and planning tools

Qualifications (education, certificates, special training, etc.) and Experience (years & background)

● 7+ combined years in strategy, business planning, product, program or project

management
● 2+ years of experience working at an advertising technology company
● Experience with software development planning and development processes
● Deep understanding of digital advertising products spanning the full range of the ad funnel
● Knowledge of ad tech architecture systems a plus (ex. ad server, network, DSP, SSP, header bidding,etc)
● Track record of delivering successful and significant software products
● Passion for building disruptive products in fast-paced, cross-functional environment

The salary range for this role is expected to be between $170,000 and $210,000.  Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
