Day - 08 Hour (United States of America)
This role is primarily focused on Epic Clarity and Caboodle administration and will participate in the planning and transition to Cogito Cloud. As such, experience with Azure cloud technologies and best practices is preferred.

A Brief Overview
The Senior Analyst I, ETL Developer, Clinical and Business Analytics is responsible for designing, developing, testing, tuning, and deploying Extract, Transformation, and Load (ETL) processes for a moderate number of projects related to:
• Datasets within the Epic Clarity reporting environment, and/or
• Data sources within the core data model of the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
• Subject area data marts within a defined Clinical Program or Clinical Support Service.

What you will do
- Designs/Develops/Tests ETL processes that reflect best practices for error handling, operations logging and alerting, scheduling and job control, etc.
- With little oversight, develops, tests, and deploys quality ETL processes with minimal post-production incidents.
- Tune performance of complex solutions (both ETL queries and database structures).
- Prepares clear and complete complex specifications, designs, test plans, and operations documentation from which ETL processes are developed.
- Participates in work group sessions with users and other project stakeholders and actively contributes to the definition of requirements, data analysis to define reporting objectives and/or metric benchmarks, and review of in progress solution development.
- Collaborate with source system development teams to conduct ETL modifications in response to large scale or complex source system (i.e., Epic) modifications, upgrades, patches, etc. such that reporting and analytical functionality of supported solutions (Clarity, EDW, etc.) is not impacted.
- Participate in and conduct well organized and documented review sessions with CBA team members to validate designs and developed ETL processes.
- Works with production support staff to enhance stability and maintainability of solutions that support a “lights out” production schedule with little or no human intervention, and minimize user outages and help desk incidents.
- Troubleshoots incidents surrounding supported solutions, including after-hours escalations of major incidents.
- Contributes to work effort & timeline estimation of projects and assists project managers in setting and meeting user expectations. Manages individual priorities and tasks to meet such timelines and actively contributes to project status reporting processes to identify and mitigate risks.
- Understands and applies HIPAA standards and regulations to all areas of work.
- Develops expertise with current ETL technologies, trends, and best practices.
- Adheres to SHC standards, methodologies, and processes. Identifies possible improvements and champions revisions with appropriate standards owner. Participates in teams to define design and development standards and processes.
Education Qualifications
- BS/BA DEGREE IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, INFORMATION SYSTEMS, BUSINESS MANAGEMENT, BUSINESS ANALYTICS, BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION OR A DIRECTLY-RELATED FIELD FROM AN ACCREDITED COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY
Experience Qualifications
- Four (4) years of experience with ETL design and development, with at least 3 years hands-on experience of ETL design and development with SSIS and/or Clarity ETL Console.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience delivering high quality Reporting & Analytics solutions that meet user requirements with minimal on-going maintenance and a low volume of production incidents (production failures, help desk calls, etc.).
- Proficient with, and contributes to, best practices and common processes for developing solutions with, and/or administering, multiple standard SHC tools, including:
o SAP BusinessObjects: BusinessObjects Enterprise (BOE), WebIntelligence, Crystal Reports, Xcelcius, BusinessObjects Data Services, CMC, SDK
o QlikView
o Microsoft SQL Server: SQL Server, SSIS, Management Studio, Team Foundation Services (TFS)
o Epic: Clarity ETL Admin Console (Compass), Clarity Data Model
o Oracle: Oracle RDMS10/11, Oracle Client
o Remedy/ITSM Service Management (Help Desk/Support) application - Deep experience implementing, ETL principles and best practices, including error handling, logging & alerting, scheduling and job control.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, and perform root cause analysis of, production incidents and establishe countermeasures to improve supported applications.
- 2+ years of experience with SQL in an Oracle and/or SQL Server (preferred) environment. Proficient with complex SQL (multi joins, subqueries, unions) and creation of database objects (tables, views, materialized views, etc.).
- Ability to utilize performance tuning utilities (Explain Plans, etc.) to optimize queries to meet user needs and improve normal operations.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Data Definition Language (DDL) , Data Manipulation Language (DML), and Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) design and development using SQL Server tools (SQL Management Studio, T-SQL, SSIS, Team Foundation, etc.), Oracle tools, and/or Epic Clarity Compass.
- Complex ETL development with SHC standard tools.
- Ability to work without direct supervision based on general direction provided by a superior, provide guidance to peers, and make recommendations to supervisors on best path forward. Provides regular updates to supervisor on pending tasks, pain points, and potential roadblocks.
- History of proactive interactions up to Tier 4 management of the organization (Directors and VP’s).
- Demonstrated ability for completing multiple complex projects.
- Actively seeks and embraces coaching and mentoring from team members and contributes to the success and development of the team through effective partnering.
- Contributes to realization of SHC's vision. Understands how their work supports the vision and proposes better ways to achieve the vision. Articulates these ideas in a manner that builds consensus and influences decision making at the Director level.

- Competent utilizing Lean concepts including visibility walls, problem solving A3’s, and Gemba rounding principles. Utilizes active daily management techniques.
- Makes reliable operational internal decision independently and reliable tactical external decisions with limited supervision.
- Successfully presents moderately complex ideas and information to a variety of audiences, including senior managers and industry groups. Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $60.92 - $80.73 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
