Sr. Data Architect - Financial
The Sr. Data Architect role will play a pivotal role in integrating diverse data sources into production-ready data models to support organizational goals. This position demands strong collaboration with business and technical teams to align with business strategies and objectives, ensuring requirements are fulfilled throughout the entire data and analytics lifecycle.

- Lead data architecture efforts in commercial banking, focusing on payment systems and processes.
- Design and implement scalable data solutions that ensure accuracy, security, and efficiency across complex systems.
- Develop and implement data governance frameworks that ensure data is properly managed, secured, and compliant with organizational policies, industry regulations, and security standards.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements, communicate solutions, and drive alignment on data strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment (daily stand-ups, stakeholder interactions).
- Serve as a thought leader, guiding the organization in data transformation initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership in data integration, modeling, and architecture (SQL, GCP BigQuery expertise).
- Evaluate current data systems and recommend improvements for performance, data quality, and governance.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience with at least 3 years in financial services (banking experience is a must).
- Proven experience in commercial banking (especially in payment systems).
- Experience leading projects & teams as a technical lead or similar role.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, regulatory compliance, and industry standards such as GDPR, CCPA, and BCBS 239.
Technical Skills
- Expertise in designing and implementing complex data architectures.
- Strong SQL and/or GCP BigQuery skills.
- Deep understanding of data movement, ETL/ELT, and data integration best practices.
- Experience designing data governance frameworks, including data lineage, metadata management, data security, and access control.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong presence and ability to drive collaboration and alignment across teams.
- Thought leadership in data transformation and governance.
Work Environment:
- Remote work from home.
- Hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday. Specific business hours will depend on client needs.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- The person in this position must occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, library stacks, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with clients and coworkers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
