The Role

Job Overview:

Join our Brand Creative team at Coursera, where we are dedicated to refining and expanding our brand to engage learners worldwide through exceptional marketing across diverse platforms. Our talented writers, designers, and animators collaborate seamlessly to support Coursera’s core audiences—individual learners, businesses, universities, governments, and degree programs—ensuring that anyone, anywhere can access world-class education.

As a Senior Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in optimizing processes and managing workflows that support our creative initiatives. You will ensure that projects are delivered on time while maintaining high standards of quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management and operations, with the ability to effectively collaborate across teams to drive efficiency and results


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and lead creative sprints and production boards to ensure clarity in project definitions, alignment on project prioritization, and availability of creative resources.
  • Proactively identify risks and confidently propose solutions that drive project success while strengthening relationships with internal and external partners at Coursera.
  • Collaborate with Creative and cross-functional teams to establish project timelines, milestones, deliverables, and requirements. Communicate effectively about project priorities and workload trade-offs to ensure timely delivery while upholding high-quality standards.
  • Enhance operational effectiveness by building sprint schedules, forecasting hours for deliverables, reporting on the creative team’s bandwidth, providing staffing recommendations, managing the creative proof and approval process, and addressing urgent business requests as needed.
  • Facilitate regular status meetings with project stakeholders to ensure alignment, address any concerns, and provide updates on progress and next steps.
  • Implement and refine project management tools and processes to improve efficiency and collaboration within the creative team and across departments.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Creative Producer, Product Manager, Project Manager, or Operations Specialist, with direct experience working alongside creative teams.
  • Strong knowledge of project management processes, workflows, and terminology.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Experience supporting product and marketing teams, leading creative teams in producing customer solutions that drive business impact.
  • Proven experience in producing and/or project managing omni-channel campaigns, including video production and paid/social media deliverables.
  • Exceptional organizational, collaboration, and communication skills, with the ability to positively influence stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in sprints.
  • Experience working with in-house companies or teams
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar project management certification.
  • Experience with project management software - Jira

Coursera offers competitive pay and equitable compensation practices. Our job titles may span more than one career level. The targeted hiring base salary range for this role is between $98,400 and $131,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experiences, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, and geographical location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for variable pay, equity, and benefits.
