Why This Role Is Valuable
This position is essential in supporting insurance and risk management needs during mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions. You will ensure that appropriate insurance programs are in place to manage risks and protect assets, while collaborating with key stakeholders across the organization, portfolio companies, and external partners. This role involves working on General Liability, Auto Liability, Workers Compensation, Umbrella/Excess Liability, D&O, E&O, Crime, Cyber, and other liability lines. You will also manage relationships with brokers, monitor risk exposures, and ensure policies align with corporate governance and strategic goals.
Location: This position is based out of Revantage's office in Dallas, TX, with occasional travel as required to support business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support insurance due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions, including risk analysis, policy review, and recommendation of risk management solutions.
- Strategize and execute insurance placements and renewal submissions, working closely with brokers and internal stakeholders.
- Manage insurance coverage queries and midterm documentation requests from portfolio companies and Blackstone, ensuring accurate and timely responses.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for insurance-related issues and coordinate with stakeholders in Finance, Legal, HR, and other departments.
- Monitor risk management strategies, including risk transfer, loss control, and mitigation measures, to manage risks efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Ensure accurate collection, organization, and retention of contracts, policies, certificates, and risk management documentation.
- Collaborate with brokers to enhance insurance programs, seeking cost-saving opportunities and risk control improvements.
- Utilize the Risk Management Information System (RMIS) to track exposures and policy data, supporting forecasts, allocations, and reporting.
- Provide guidance to internal teams and educate portfolio companies on insurance coverages, risk mitigation strategies, and compliance with risk objectives.
- Support corporate governance by ensuring policies and processes are aligned with company guidelines and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in insurance risk management, with exposure to mergers, acquisitions, and complex corporate transactions.
- Strong knowledge of insurance lines, especially in liability and real estate sectors.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and familiarity with RMIS systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional designations such as CPCU or ARM.
- Experience working with captive insurance programs and portfolio companies.
