Job Summary
The Senior Analyst, Customer Insights will play a meaningful role in helping Giant Eagle develop rich insights about customer trends to inform our merchandising plans. This role will be on using your analytical mind and strong data literacy to clarify the problem, analyze the data, and communicate the story for nontechnical stakeholders The senior analyst will play a key role in interfacing with business, merchandising and marketing stakeholders to both prioritize areas of opportunity within existing businesses. This role requires equal parts of analysis and creativity.
Job Description
Key Competencies:
- Experience Required: 3 to 5 years of experience in an analytics role preferably in a retail customer insights capacity
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor junior analysts;
- Experience Required: Proficiency in programming languages and tools,
- pySpark, Python & SQL for data manipulation and analysis
- Databricks experience desired
- Experience Required: analyzing retail customer data
- Education Required: Bachelors Degree in Statistics, Mathematics or related field
Job Responsibilities:
- Interface with database tables, pull data from different sources (flat files, database tables) and link them logically to extract data accurately and efficiently using Databricks or SQL
- Use SQL and python (databricks) and other tools to perform standard analysis, profiling, pre-post analysis, dashboarding/reporting etc.
- Gather and analyze data using appropriate technical and analytic techniques
- Lead cross-functional teams to establish effective analytics to inform business decisions
- Interpret results and develop actionable recommendations from the data analysis to build action plans with business stakeholders
- Contribute to developing, defining, and completing custom projects and analytics that help drive rich customer understanding to drive a customer centric mentality across our organization
- Lead and manage projects, tasks, and stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to specifications.
- Coach and develop junior talent within the team to ensure all team members continuing to build on their technical acumen
