Job Description
We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of skilled engineers in developing a next-generation, web-native, cloud-based biopharma application. This role requires a strong technical leader with experience in data analysis, large-scale data processing, and performance optimization. You will be responsible for driving the development of innovative solutions that enable advanced analytics in the biopharma industry.
Responsibilities:

Lead and Mentor: Guide a team of engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and reliable software solutions for the biopharma industry. Foster professional growth and technical expertise within the team.

Cross-Functional Leadership: Oversee a multidisciplinary team, including Engineering, Product Management, Technical Marketing, Product Support, and QA, from product inception to delivery.

Timely Software Delivery: Ensure high-quality software releases are delivered on schedule for both internal and external customers.

Technical Ownership: Drive software architecture, design, feature development, verification, and release, ensuring high-quality solutions for customers.

Resource Management: Prioritize and allocate resources effectively to align with evolving business priorities, direction, and constraints.

Software Integration: Collaborate with various teams to ensure seamless integration of software solutions.

Stakeholder Engagement: Interface with internal and external customers for requirement analysis, project scheduling, and issue resolution.

Agile Team Management & Roadmaps: Direct the team’s activities within an Agile/Scrum framework to enhance efficiency and adaptability, work with Product managers to define long-term development roadmaps that aligns with business objectives
Qualifications
The Engineering Software Manager will work onsite at our Santa Clara office and not available for remote work. Priority will be given to candidates located in the Bay Area.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A master’s degree is strongly preferred.

8+ years in software engineering, including 2+ years in a leadership role or leading projects.

Strong background in web-native and cloud-based application development, with hands-on experience in Azure, AWS, or equivalent cloud platforms.

Proficiency in JavaScript frameworks/libraries such as Angular or React, as well as backend technologies including ASP.NET, .NET (C#), WCF, WPF, and MVVM.

Extensive experience in developing REST APIs and Microservices using .NET (C# and Entity Framework) while following design pattern best practices.

Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in scientific software development.

Strong background in numerical analysis software development.

Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Bitbucket, GitHub, and Azure DevOps to streamline development and deployment processes

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $172,512.00 - $269,550.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
