The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Software Engineer to join our team based in South Brisbane, Queensland. You will join a team of Software Engineers, Data Scientists, designers and Product Owners and extend Fugro’s award winning ROAMES solution. You will build scalable software that pushes boundaries. 

You will

• Enhance and expand our scalable cloud platform, enabling seamless storage, processing and retrieval of data like point clouds and imagery at an impressive petabyte scale.
• Craft software in an AWS Cloud environment, where innovation thrives and possibilities are endless.
• Collaborating closely with our team of data scientists to implement cutting-edge algorithms and scale machine learning initiatives.

About You

Your success in securing this role looks like this:

• 3+ years' experience of commercial software engineering experience.
• An engineering mindset geared toward building resilient and scalable software solutions.
• Proficiency in languages such as C++, Python, MATLAB, R or Java
• Mathematical literacy and comfort with concepts like 3D geometry

Things we value (but are not essential)

• Practical understanding of algorithmic complexity, data structures and methods to accelerate data access
• Experience with scaling workloads horizontally, whether in the cloud or through HPC.
•  A keen interest in low-level programming, data formats and related areas
• Familiarity with GIS concepts
• Hands-on experience with sensors, sensor data or geo positioning
