About the Role:

The Promotions team mission is to acquire new customers and retain existing through targeted offers and incentives that enhance the remittance experience for millions of users. You will work as a backend developer building and extending Promotions Platform that supports multiple complementary products. You will report directly to the Engineering Manager, based in Poland.

 You Will:

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.

  • Build a new promotions platform to empower new promotion capabilities, enable A/B testing and rapid iteration on new promotional features to enhance customer engagement.

  • Optimize platform performance for high availability and low-latency, ensuring reliability to support global customer bases.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, deploying updates and bug fixes to ensure seamless functionality and continuous improvement. 

  • Address technical debt of the existing promotions platform, focusing on refactoring and optimizing legacy code to improve maintainability, performance and scalability.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, marketing specialists, ML engineers to empower high-impact promotional campaigns.

  • Support the promotion team through a rotating on-call schedule.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of professional experience.

  • Proficiency in a general purpose language like Go, Java, Kotlin, C#; bonus points for familiarity with Kotlin.

  • Experience with RDBMS like MySQL, PostgreSQL or SQL Server; bonus points for experience managing big data.

  • Proven experience and understanding of software development practices, system design, software design patterns, and algorithms.
