Deploys software to production, Disaster Recovery (DR), and Quality Assurance (QA) environments. Implements messaging and streaming frameworks -- Tibco Rendezvous, Kafka, and RESTful services. Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system. Implements releases of software and provides front-line production support for software and data to all business user teams. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems related to applications. Collaborates with application development teams or third-party vendors using Gitlab, Docker, Aritfactory, Apache Subversion, and Confluence.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supports and performs all phases of production support and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoots and analyzes root cause of incidents (user created and system generated alerts) and leads to logical resolution
  • Monitors scheduler failures across the organization.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

 

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer (or closely related occupation) performing incident and problem management and data analysis through major phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) in Waterfall and Agile environments.

 

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and two (2) years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer (or closely related occupation) performing incident and problem management and data analysis through major phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) in Waterfall and Agile environments.

 

Skills and Knowledge:

 

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) providing front-line software and data production support to business user teams using enterprise ticketing systems (ServiceNow or JIRA) and Microsoft (MS) tools; and identifying, researching, and resolving scheduler failures and technical application problems on Windows and Linux servers using PowerShell, SQL, XML, JAVA J2EE, and Apache.
  • DE scripting using multiple languages -- PowerShell, Python, REST, and XML; performing automation on system integration and management, monitoring, and deployment; and developing, configuring, and deploying strategies of process improvement to Windows and Linux systems using PowerShell, Python, SQL, Bash, and Job Scheduling system.
  • DE analyzing and implementing DevOps practices and concepts using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) across infrastructure; managing source code repositories, ongoing configuration, and data across production, development and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) environments using Git, relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server), and data loading mechanisms; and managing and configuring virtual resources and providing workflow automations using Cloud platforms.
  • DE monitoring dashboards and alerts using tools (Splunk or Grafana), methodologies (WMI, agent-based, and SNMP) and push pull concepts; and monitoring and resolving alerts for applications, jobs, services, and servers using Job Scheduling and workflow orchestration system (Tidal or Control-M), Putty/SSH, and RDP.
