Senior Technical Writer
EU Remote
Kong is building the future of API management for developers. We’re a fast-growing, well-funded company with happy customers and motivated employees. Join our friendly, fast-moving Docs team in delivering content that helps our users succeed in their goals.
We own the full docs stack, from the foundational platform, through supporting contributions from across the company, to leading initiatives that advance our content and usability. We regularly get hands-on with the product, ensuring that the content we produce is accurate (and becoming product experts in the process).
We’re looking for a Senior Technical Writer who is excited by having a variety of projects in their queue, who is either comfortable with, or wants to learn a docs-as-code delivery model, and who is ready to be an integral part of a rapidly-growing company.
What you’ll do:
- Use the Product: One of our core rules is you can’t ship a doc unless you’ve successfully tested what’s written.
- Focus on the End User: Write deployment and configuration guides, user guides, API and command references, tutorials, and best practices guides based on real world user needs
- Collaborate: Shipping great docs is a team game. Work with writers, engineers, product managers, and UX designers to develop clear and concise technical content. Then work with technical support staff, field specialists, and the community to develop it even further.
- Continually improve: Both the documentation, and yourself. Whether it’s internal processes, tooling or new skillsets, this is a team that values improvement in all things.
What you’ll bring:
- Empathy, curiosity, and a willingness to try new things, especially those outside of your comfort zone.
- 4+ years experience writing clear, concise technical material for developers and/or enterprise admins.
- Experience working asynchronously with teams distributed across the world.
- Candor. There are still things we can improve. We want you to help make the team better.
