A great opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Systems Architect to join our team. The Senior Systems Architect supports critical Systems Engineering, Architecture and Engineering Management activities across major bids and projects across all domains within Thales. The role sits within the Australian Engineering Competence Centre as the Engineering arm of the resource bench. The person in this role is expected to be able to move seamlessly between various bids and projects throughout the year in order to support critical gaps and priorities.

YOUR ROLE
Your role purpose will be:
- Possess suitable experience to apply key engineering skills across all domains within Thales Australia
- Operate as a team player within bid and project leadership teams
- Effectively manage key stakeholder relationships with Project Management, other engineering disciplines working as part of bids or projects, Heads of Discipline and Domain Technical Directors
- Lead the development of critical architectures as part of bids and projects
- Provide the Engineering Management role for bids and projects, supporting the initial development of the Work Breakdown,
- Manage the engineering team to produce the engineering design, schedule and estimates for successful development of bid and program start-up activities.
- Co-ordinate the efforts of all engineering specialty areas as part of the supported bid or project.
- Be able to flexibly step in to new projects to resolve key gaps and issues.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:
- Expert level of experience in Architecture development for major projects
- Expert level of experience in Systems engineering for major projects
- Expert level of experience in Engineering Management for major programs
- Experience across a variety of Engineering domains and ability to rapidly context switch between projects as needed
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree or equivalent.
- Recognised as a Chartered Engineer (CPEng) by Engineers Australia or demonstrated engineering competencies required to attain CPEng (desirable).
- Eligible for Australian State engineering registration and the National Engineering Register (desirable).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Line Management of engineering teams.
