About Team
This role is for the Platform Engineering Team, which is the 2nd largest team at BV.
We offer Developer Platforms such as CI/CD, source control, artifact repository management, monitoring and observability tools and application platforms.
We provide Cloud Best Practices & Shared Libraries for consulting on cloud-based software, maintaining shared libraries and offering an automation toolbox.
We Enhance Developer Experience by creating high-quality templates and guidelines, which help reduce developers' cognitive load and streamline workflow.
We are a 14 member team working in the UK and India.
How you'll make an impact:
- You will design and architect robust, scalable, secure, complex systems and platforms, ensuring your ability to manage large scale operations.
- You will build internal tools and automation frameworks that will make the platform more accessible and improve efficiency.
- You will keep up with emerging technologies and industry trends, introducing cutting-edge tools and solutions to enhance platform capabilities.
- You will provide technical mentorship, defining best practices and fostering growth among engineers.
- You will work closely with the Principal Engineering Committee (PEC), principal software engineers and security teams to ensure smooth integration and effective communications across the organisation.
The must have skills that matter:
- 10+ years of experience working with highly scalable, distributed systems utilizing open-source technologies.
- Strong programming expertise in Golang/Java/Python.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing complex cloud architectures on AWS and GCP, incorporating best practice for scalability, security and cost efficiency.
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and advanced cloud architecture strategies.
- Proficiency in serverless architectures, including AWS Lambda, API Gateway and DynamoDB.
