Title: Senior Staff Accountant
Direct Manager Title: Accounting Manager

The Role
The Senior Accountant, serving as an integral member of the accounting team, will help lead the month-end close process, ensure financial statement accuracy, maintain strong internal controls, and provide financial analysis for decision-making. This position reports directly to the Accounting Manager.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform general accounting functions, including financial reporting and analysis (month-end close, consolidation reports, etc.)
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparation of a variance analysis for P&L and balance sheet.
  • Update daily cash report and assist with cash forecasting.
  • Responsible for monitoring A/R accounts: Detecting overdue payments and managing payments and refunds. .
  • Communicate with customers: Contacting customers to discuss debts and answer questions.
  • Develop measures: Creating measures to encourage timely payments.
  • Process payroll, including tax withholdings, benefits deductions, and other adjustments.
  • Lead sales tax reporting and filing.
  • Assist with year-end financial statement audit requests.
  • Support senior management with ad hoc financial reporting, analysis, and projects as needed.
  • Supervise and train junior staff as needed.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, combined with 4-6 years of public/private industry accounting experience.
    Strong analytical and accounting skills with a solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining attention to detail and managing deadlines and expectations.
  • Must be highly motivated and have the ability to function independently.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. 

Nice to Have

  • Experience in NetSuite is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel or other programs such as Alteryx, Tableau, Power of BI, etc., is preferred.
  • Accounting experience with an advertising/marketing agency a plus.
