Senior Software Engineer (Backend, Growth)

We are looking to add highly motivated skilled engineers to our team to help us scale and take our proven system to new heights. 

As a Senior Software Engineer joining WHOOP’s Growth team, you will develop our e-commerce platform, developing features that help grow our business and provide a delightful experience for our members. We make data-driven decisions since any change we make can impact our revenue directly. This will require a strong knowledge of backend architecture and API design.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Help build and scale services that allow WHOOP to offer memberships and accessories to our members
• Contribute to backend development: Java, AWS and Postgres
• Interface with e-commerce platforms: CommerceTools and Stripe
• Work collaboratively in a business growth environment with a product and technical vision
• Consistently deliver features and code with an iterative approach
• Facilitate, coordinate, and develop ad hoc experiments to promote growth
• Support and up-level engineers in your team and neighboring teams through direct and indirect mentorship

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ years of experience
• Experience working on large scale software systems
• Experience in API design and development (Java preferred)
• Experience in relational database design and development (SQL)
• Experience with headless content management systems
• Experience with experimentation, data-driven development, and rapid iteration
• Preferred experience building in the e-commerce domain
• Positive attitude and ownership mentality
• Strong communication skills to work both collaboratively and independently

This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.
