The Sr. Sensor Scientist for Radiometer is responsible for coordinating and evaluating complex sensor research and development activities to provide new and or improved biosensor products to support the business goals and objectives.
This position is part of the R&D Team located in New Brighton, MN and will be on-site. You will report to the Sr. Director of R&D. At Radiometer, our vision is to improve global healthcare with reliable, fast, and easy patient diagnoses.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Be a key participant of interdisciplinary R&D team to develop novel sensor and membrane designs to support product development and innovation efforts.
- Provide analysis, testing and evaluation of complex sensor/system designs, sensor manufacturing processes and techniques, and patentable concepts.
- Mentor/coach junior level Scientists.
- Provide accurate design of experiments, interpretation, and presentation of experimental data by creating clear and concise summary reports.
- Execute verification and validation of sensor constructions and provide technical expertise to support manufacturing.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Prior experience in the area of biomedical or blood gas sensor design and development (R&D) is required.
- 3-7 years of relevant experience within the Medical Device or IVD industry is required.
- Experience with Quality Management Systems and Design Control within the Medical Device, IVD or Pharmaceutical area is preferred.
- BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Engineering Sciences, or equivalent. Master's degree in same field is preferred.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Expertise in statistical analysis software (JMP/Minitab, etc.) and methods.
- Strong Problem-Solving skills and ability to get plans into action.
