Position Overview
We are looking for a Senior Security Systems Engineer to provide technical support for ByteDance’s security systems and applications.
The Senior Security Systems Engineer will be responsible for coordinating with security vendors and providing technical support for users - fixing any security related issues and regularly providing reports.
This is a full-time position with an on-site work schedule out of ByteDance’s San Jose office. This position has competitive benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) with 3.5% match, generous PTO, $100/month technology stipend, etc.
Essential Job Functions
- Provide technical support to users, record reported system issues, analyze and identify root
causes, recommend solutions, fix issues, provide status updates to users, and provide regular
incident reports and updates to management.
- Provide guidance to internal R & D team members on the integration between internally developed applications and security systems.
- Coordinate with the security system vendors to ensure that the vendors resolves unresolved
issues raised by the internal R & D team in a timely manner. Regularly record issues and
provide status updates to management.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the security system vendors. Attend regular meetings
with the security system vendors as needed.
- Regularly conduct system health checks to ensure that the security systems operates safely,
stably, and efficiently worldwide.
- Upgrade applications and systems according to supplier recommendations to ensure that
the version used complies with standard operations. Enhance existing software functionality
and develop direct system testing and verification procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in at least one of the following majors: computer science,
information technology, programming and system analysis, science (computer research)
- +5 years of relevant work experience
- Lenel Physical Security-related Applications and Systems Certification/Training
- Experience in one or more programming languages, such as Shell and Python scripting, as
well as SQL
- Experience in SQL database open connection development
- Knowledge of network construction, operation and maintenance, and/or routing
Infrastructure
- Experience in designing, building, and maintaining large-scale distributed security systems,
with some experience in interface development
- Excellent communication skills and good logical framework thinking ability
- Excellent at summarizing problems found in daily work and organizing them into reports
- Experience in database, operating system, and server management and maintenance
- Candidates with experience in building or maintaining security systems for domestic internet
companies are preferred
