What We DoFirst American Trust is seeking a motivated Scrum Master with 5 – 7 years of experience to facilitate scrum events, coach and mentor team members, help Product Owners to manage their backlog, and enable teams to deliver critical business objectives. The Senior Scrum Master is a servant leader and coach of our Lean-Agile Office, helping to implement FA Trust’s business agility roadmap to scale and mature agility, deliver value, and achieve the desired outcomes for our customers.
What You'll Do
• Drive effective scrum events including daily standup, backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
• Track and distribute relevant metrics and reports periodically to show team progress and velocity
• Identify, understand, and track impediments; help remove them and drive improvements to optimize how the team works
• Help the Product Owner manage customer expectations and stakeholder communications
• Act as a liaison between the team and everyone else to minimize interruptions to the sprint, keeping the team focused on delivering a quality product on time
• Build a safe and trusting team environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or judgement, with an emphasis on problem solving
• Represents the team in Scrum of Scrums and ART Sync
• Helps the team prepare for PI Planning and guide the team during the event to complete all of their tasks
• Demonstrates a growth mindset by coaching the team and Product Owner on how to improve their agile practices to improve flow and excel at scale
• May need to work outside of normal work hours based on business needs
What You'll Bring
• Demonstrated experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban etc.):
• Skilled in servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
• Demonstrated ability to build, develop, and coach high-performing software development teams
• Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment and work on multiple priorities simultaneously without impact to quality of work
• Experience being on Scrum teams developing software/digital products
• Demonstrated experience in issue identification, escalation and resolution
• Ability to lead retrospectives, document outcomes, and guide team members in best practices
• Moderate to expert-level knowledge of JIRA or other agile tools to measure agile team metrics
• Must possess and utilize exceptional communication skills to enable team coordination, effectively track milestones/dependencies and highlight team progress
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Technology, or related fields
• 5 - 7 years of using Scrum framework
• Must be a Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
• Experience training, mentoring and coaching Scrum teams developing software/digital products
• Adaptable and flexible in a cross-functional environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience or certifications a plus
The pay range for this role is $109,700.00 - $146,200.00
This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
