Job Description

Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Sales Specialist in Dow Polyurethanes (Dow PU), located in Tokyo, Japan. Job is an account management on direct customers and distributors to deliver the sales plan in alignment to marketing and product plan. You will work with the team and contribute to the business growth and differentiation of Dow PU business. Also you are expected to understand customer’s unmet needs and develop the long-term business milestones in the responsible market with internal stakeholders.

Dow Polyurethanes in Japan

Japan is a key country for Dow PU business such as in Automotive, Infrastructure & Construction, Appliance, Furniture & Bedding, Home & Personal Care. We are serving to these industries with the robust product mix such as Propylene Glycols, Polyols, Isocyanates, Polyurethane Systems. Dow PU Japan team also supports Japanese Automotive OEM/Tier businesses around the world. Below is just a part of exciting opportunities which Japan team is working with regional and global team to accelerate innovation & sustainability and contribute to local industries and societies.

• Thermal insulation spray enabling ZEH (Net Zero Energy Housing) & ZEB (Net Zero Energy Building)
• BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) battery assembly development
• Sustainable Propylene Glycols and Polyols development with circular and bio-based feedstocks

Responsibilities / Duties

• Account management on new/existing customers and distributors to deliver the sales plan in alignment to marketing and product plan.
• Develop and execute account plan with product team, marketing, R&D/TS&D, supply chain and other functions
• Understand the customer needs and identify new business opportunities at new/existing customers
• Collaborates with other functions and stakeholders to enhance CX
• Develop and drive innovation project with marketing and R&D/TS&D tea
• Leads and conducts negotiations and develops and implements price strategies aligned with business goals considering legal implications, customs regulations and Dow sales processes.
• Share industry movement, market dynamics, competitor activities etc. with product/marketing team and R&D/TS&D team.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher
• Fluent in English writing and speaking
• Availability for Frequent travel

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical background
• Experience in the Chemical or Polyurethanes industry
• Experience in leading functional groups or project management

 Knowledge & Skills

• Good inter-personal skill and like to work as a team
• Communication skill and the ability to build networks inside/outside company
• Strong initiative, ownership, accountability, passion and proactive working attitude.
• Strong analytical thinking, applies experience, knowledge to resolve issues.
• Strong passion to understand application, customer unmet needs and technical value proposition
