The Senior Program Manager, Payments Product Initiatives will be responsible for driving strategic, high-impact initiatives across the Payments organization. This role will oversee complex, cross-functional programs that align with business goals, enhance product capabilities, and ensure seamless execution of payments-related projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the payments ecosystem, strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to drive execution in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

Program Leadership & Execution

  • Lead and manage cross-functional payment product initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and business objectives.

  • Develop and maintain program roadmaps, ensuring key milestones and deliverables are met on time and within budget.

  • Identify and mitigate risks, proactively addressing roadblocks to ensure successful execution.

  • Establish and optimize program governance structures, ensuring accountability across teams.
     

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a central point of contact for product, engineering, finance, compliance, risk, sales, and operations teams to ensure alignment on payments initiatives.

  • Partner with product leaders to define and prioritize initiatives that enhance payments capabilities and revenue growth.

  • Drive regular program updates, executive reporting, and cross-team communication to ensure transparency and clarity on program status and risks.
     

Process & Operational Efficiency

  • Implement best practices for program management, leveraging agile methodologies and frameworks to optimize execution.

  • Improve coordination and communication channels across departments, enabling faster decision-making and issue resolution.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiencies to drive scalability within the payments function.
     

Strategic Impact & Growth

  • Work closely with leadership to align payments product initiatives with broader company objectives.

  • Support business case development, financial modeling, and impact analysis for major product launches and operational changes.

  • Help scale the payments organization by developing repeatable frameworks and playbooks for program execution.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong program management and cross-functional leadership skills.

  • Deep understanding of payments infrastructure, processing, and fintech ecosystems.

  • Ability to analyze complex operational challenges and develop scalable solutions.

  • Excellent risk management and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to align teams and drive initiatives forward.

  • Experience implementing agile methodologies and best practices for program execution.

  • Proficiency in financial modeling and impact analysis to support business decisions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of program management experience in payments, fintech, financial services, or a related industry.

  • Strong understanding of payments ecosystems, card networks, compliance, risk, and settlement processes.

  • Experience leading large-scale, complex programs with multiple stakeholders across product, engineering, operations, and finance.

  • Proficiency in Agile and Lean methodologies, with a track record of delivering programs in fast-paced environments.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting to senior executives.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess program impact, ROI, and strategic alignment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Technology, or a related field (MBA is preferred but not required).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in PMP, PgMP, Agile (Scrum Master, SAFe), or Six Sigma.

  • Experience working with network rules, payment processors, and financial regulatory frameworks.

  • Background in payments product management or experience working closely with product teams.
