About the Role
The role encompasses a pivotal mission: to place the customer at the forefront of all endeavours. Through seamless collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including Product, Product Marketing, and Engineering teams, this role entails nurturing ongoing and forthcoming initiatives, ensuring consistent alignment with user-centric goals.
Guided by our Design Principals to expand your T-shaped skill set, you will assume responsibility for various design facets, including user research, information architecture, content design, interaction design, and visual design. Your mandate is to drive enhancements and innovations across the Matillion product portfolio.
The role extends beyond design execution; Senior Product Designer will be an ardent advocate for design thinking throughout the organisation, playing a pivotal role in scaling our design practices. Your vision will encompass the broader landscape while simultaneously scrutinising intricate details. By experimenting with novel concepts, your aim is to usher in product experiences that are not just useful and usable but also highly desirable in the market.
What you will be doing
- Design elegant, user-centered experiences by identifying user needs and collaborating with designers, developers, and stakeholders.
- Create and communicate concepts, prototypes, and service blueprints while contributing to the Matillion Design System.
- Elevate product experiences by introducing scalable design practices and consistently raising the quality benchmark.
- Execute strategic design with a focus on analysis, testing, and improving, while confidently synthesising research and concepts into actionable deliverables.
- Demonstrate exceptional communication, prioritisation, and stakeholder management skills, while providing and receiving constructive feedback effectively.
What we are looking for
- UX Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in delivering software application UX
- Design Skills: Strong knowledge of user-centered design, interaction design, and visual design, with experience contributing to design systems and the end-to-end design process.
- Research and Communication: Proficient in user research techniques, persona creation, and storytelling, with the ability to communicate design concepts effectively to non-design stakeholders.
- Passion and Collaboration: Proactive and inquisitive, with a passion for staying at the forefront of design, technology, and data, combined with a highly collaborative and strategic problem-solving approach.
- Additional Skills (Preferred): Foundational understanding of responsive web design, HTML, and CSS, with bonus experience in leading design processes, working in iterative/agile environments, or designing B2B enterprise solutions.
