Job Description:

As a key member of the North America FP&A team, the Senior Manager, FP&A will oversee and support all finance cycles for their assigned North America commercial operations functions. The successful candidate will participate in the design, enhancement and maintenance of FP&A tools and processes to enable efficient performance monitoring and help drive the operations.

The successful candidate will be a pivot point between Business Units across Therapeutic Areas, NALT functional leaders and Global Headquarters in Paris, aligning processes to support business decisions and comply with reporting requirements.

The Senior Manager FP&A will have direct finance responsibility for specific functions, that may include but not limited to:  Business Operations, Value & Access, Global functions such as Legal IT along with local G&A functions. The successful candidate will partner with the business, ensuring that resources are fully aligned behind strategic and operational priorities and that costs are properly managed and controlled.

Main Responsibilities & Job Expectations

FP&A team scope:

  • Consolidation of full P&L for North America: Top Line, Costs and Cash Flow
  • Business Partner to North America Functions: Business Operations, Value & Access, Legal, Corporate Affairs, Government Affairs, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Finance, HR & Facilities
  • Salary mass forecasting process across therapeutic areas and functions for the USA
  • As part of the FP&A team, the successful candidate will directly manage some FP&A processes and ensure direct support and business partnering to the functions leaders as assigned by their manager.

North America FP&A Processes & Reporting

  • Participate to designing and animating FP&A processes for North America, including elaborating a retro-planning and cascading instructions to all business partners and stakeholders impacted by the processes.
  • Participate to reporting Top Line, Cost and Cash Flow to Corporate Headquarters in France, in line with instructions and deadlines
  • Responsible for providing analysis and reporting for Sales and / or Opex for the scope assigned by their manager.
  • Manage preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounting packs for sales and costs in accordance with local and Group reporting requirements and standards with meaningful variance analysis and commentary
  • Pivot point between Forecasting, Trade and business units to drive alignment / consistency of assumptions and ensure it properly translates into financial

Finance business partner to functional NALT leaders as assigned by their manager

  • Business partner both on tactical and strategic initiatives (short, mid, and longer-term)
  • Establish efficient operating mechanisms with business partners for communication, analysis, budget elaboration, and reporting.
  • Responsible for preparing the yearly budget, forecast, and 5Y plan with the mandate to support, question, and steer the business partners toward improving their cost structure.
  • With “Efficiency for Growth” project as an enabler, provide business partnering to functional leaders to oversee, monitor, and optimize their cost base.
  • Foster a good relationship with the various stakeholders to ensure good communication flow.

Lead transactional activities for their assigned scope:

  • Establish and monitor standardized policies and procedures with Accounting Shared Services to optimize transactional activities
  • Costs Center follow-up
  • P2P process optimization (including users support)
  • Salary Mass: standardize inputs and processes with Shared Services, HR and business partners and communicate efficiently with Business Units to enable tactical and strategic actions
  • Closing process (PO receptions, manual accruals…)
  • Manage Internal Control requirement (SAQ…) and act as pivot point between accounting shared services and business for statutory, tax or audit (Internal and external) matters.
  • Provide Financial information and support to Tax, Accounting team and external auditors.

Key Contributor to finance transformation.

  • Ensure continuous enhancement of reporting framework in line with business priorities (reporting by function, nature, headcount, SAP 4/ Hana transition…)
  • Contribute to projects aiming at optimizing finance footprint and resource allocation

Knowledge, Abilities & Experience

  • BS in Finance, Accounting or relevant degree, MBA and/or CPA preferred
  • At least 5 years of relevant, demonstrated & practical FP&A experience
  • Proven track record in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, including business impact modelling
  • Business Partnering experience
  • Understanding of top line drivers, including forecasting models, Gross to Net, Market and competitive landscape dynamics
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles and financial statements and the interface between external reporting, management reporting
  • Prior Big 4/financial accounting experience desired, not required
  • Solid understanding of IFRS / US GAAP
  • Expertise in business analytics and tools including advanced Excel skills, and planning systems (SAP, TM1, RDL)

The annual base salary range for this position is $135,00 - $165,000

The pay range displayed above is the range of base pay compensation within which Ipsen expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting. Individual compensation within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and demonstrated skills.
