The Senior Manager Data Operations will have a strong background in leading teams focused on run operations for an enterprise data platform. In this role you will oversee the operational aspects of the bank’s data platform including system operations, incident management, change and release management, service level management, documentation and compliance, and overall continuous improvement. In this role you will be responsible for managing key vendor relationships in support of the data platform operations.

As a Senior Manager of Data Operations, you will:
- Support the data platform DataOps technical strategy and roadmap of capabilities ensuring scalability, reliability, reusability, observability, security, and performance.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of our cloud data platform monitoring and ensuring system performance, availability, and reliability to ensure minimal downtime and optimal load performance. This includes nightly batch jobs.
- Lead and mentor a team of support analysts and data engineers both onshore and offshore, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and agility.
- Manage a team acting as level 1, level 2 and in some cases level 3 support for batch processes and data platform user issues as well as minor enhancements and system upgrades.
- Leverage automation and continuous improvement techniques to shift left work, reduce incidents and enable a better user experience.
- Oversee the process of implementing and coordinating changes to minimize disruption to operations
- Ensure the data platform meets agreed upon service level agreements and performance targets for the organization.
- Lead the team in documenting our critical applications and processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Act at the central point of contact for key vendor relationships.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. Required.
Experience
- 10+ years experience leading engineering or technology run/operations teams. Required
- 5-6 years experience with data engineering work, platforms, and technologies. Required
- 3-5 years experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake). Snowflake. Preferred
- Hands-on experience with job orchestration technology such as Airflow or BMC Control-M. Preferred
- Understanding of data management principles, data integration techniques, and ETL/ELT processes. Preferred
- Experience with DataOps tools and technologies (i.e Airflow, Kafka, Spark, etc.). Preferred
- Solid understanding of cloud security best practices, including network security, identity management, and data protection. Preferred
