About the Team and the Role:

eBay is looking for an expert Tax professional for a Senior Indirect Tax Analyst role! You will work on multiple projects and deliverables as assigned from the America’s indirect tax team. Working on a large cross functional team will be a daily occurrence.

What You Will Accomplish:

• Support Americas Sales & Use Tax audit defense
• Work on multiple projects and deliverables as assigned from the America’s indirect tax team
• Assist with M&A integration activity
• Support new business initiatives & tax legislation through drafting tax requirements
• Perform ad-hoc technical research
• Review category mappings and support AI learning for enhanced taxability
• Assist with capturing and analyzing large sets of data
• Assist with tax refund escalations related to taxability issues and buyer exemptions
• Collaborate with Customer Service, Product and Engineering, Finance, Shared Services, and the broader Tax Team

What You Will Bring:

• 3-5 years of related indirect tax experience.  Big 4 experience a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with emphasis in Finance, Information Systems, or Accounting.  Advanced degree a plus.
• CMI or CPA a plus.
• Proficient in English - other languages useful.
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule (3 days/week) in eBay's Austin office
• Experience with U.S. sales & use taxes is required; understanding of marketplace facilitator legislation preferred
• Experience with US indirect tax compliance and state tax audits required
• Experience directly interacting with US state and local tax authorities required
• Familiarity with Canada, Mexico, and other global VAT regimes a plus
• Knowledge of indirect tax trends in the digital economy preferred
• Capable of supporting indirect tax projects with cross-functional dependencies
• Proven passion and track record of delivering results in a fast-paced, rapidly changing business environment
• Strong attention to detail, problem resolution and mitigation skills
• Ability to articulate sophisticated concepts in a concise manner both written and verbally
• Proficiency with Excel, Microsoft Office, and tax research tools required
• Experience and proven understanding of Vertex O-Series preferred
• Experience with Alteryx and other data wrangling tools preferred
• Experience with SAP preferred
