What you’ll do
Reporting to the Manager, Dealer Contract, the senior financial analyst is expected to investigate and produce insightful financial analysis and forecasts related to various areas of Canadian Tire Retail. The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team contributes to supporting the business by being held accountable for providing proactive and meaningful financial analysis to Dealer Relations senior management while helping other key stakeholders thoroughly understand the financial impacts of potential arrangements. In addition, the FP&A team assists in highlighting risks and opportunities to senior management.

Provide reporting on the Enterprise’s Financial Framework for Senior Executives in support of any required financial settlements

Perform analysis and financial modelling that assesses the impact of differing financial arrangements on profitability

Incorporate input from all business units’ key stakeholders into complete financial models as required

Use subject matter expertise to facilitate the resolution of new deals and disputes that arise at business partner meetings

Understand, identify, and solve for data requirements

Manage multiple requests in a fast paced and ever-changing environment

Collaborate with other analytical departments across the organization

Clearly communicate findings to senior management; summarizing complex models in a way that can be easily understood by less technical stakeholders
What you bring
-
University degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field

Accounting Designation CPA (CA, CGA, CMA) or MBA considered an asset
-
Minimum of 5+ years in a business or financial analytical role

Extensive experience extracting and manipulating large data sets from relational databases (SQL)

Extensive experience building and improving financial models
-
Ability to quickly visualize and clearly communicate findings/recommendations to key stakeholders (Excel, PowerPoint, PowerPivot)

Working knowledge of Knime (or equivalent) considered an asset

Canadian Tire experience is an asset with an in-depth knowledge of Canadian Tire’s financial systems

Superior problem solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills; can see the "big picture" in a complex business environment to drive decision making

Proven ability to translate and communicate complex information to non-technical business partners in a manner that can derive actionable insights
