We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our engineering team, focusing on AI/ML projects. In this pivotal role, you will architect and implement backend solutions that drive the success of cutting-edge generative AI platforms. Your expertise will be crucial in designing scalable, high-performance systems to support complex AI workflows, document processing, and data retrieval, while ensuring that our technology meets the evolving needs of the business and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of core backend components for a generative AI platform.
• Architect and implement enterprise-scale vector database solutions for efficient document and data retrieval.
• Develop and maintain robust backend services using Python and frameworks like FastAPI and Flask.
• Architect and optimize document processing pipelines, including OCR, text extraction, and embedding generation.
• Design and implement advanced vector search algorithms and related optimization strategies.
• Drive integration efforts with various Azure AI and cognitive services to enhance platform capabilities.
• Establish and optimize data processing pipelines for document understanding and analysis.
• Implement advanced data caching strategies to improve system performance.
• Mentor junior and mid-level team members, fostering technical growth and establishing development standards.
• Lead the team in making critical architectural decisions to ensure platform scalability and performance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product teams to define technical requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Expert-level Python development, with a strong focus on AI/ML technologies.
• Extensive experience with vector similarity search and optimization techniques for large-scale systems.
• Deep understanding of Azure AI services, including integration and optimization for backend solutions.
• Advanced experience with high-performance asynchronous processing and distributed systems.
• Proven expertise in machine learning and natural language processing (NLP) architecture patterns.
• Strong experience in establishing technical standards and implementing best practices in backend development.

• Proven track record of mentoring teams and driving technical leadership within AI/ML initiatives.

Additional Requirements

• Expert experience in optimizing and scaling AI models and backend solutions for high performance.
• Experience with enterprise-level software or product solutions and backend architecture at scale.
• Proven ability to establish and maintain development standards and best practices within a growing team.
• Track record of successful technical mentorship and fostering development within a team.
