About the Role:
As the Senior DER Project Engineer, you will be part of the Virtual Power Plant team, working on delivery of projects and programs that grow AGL’s VPP capability, with an ambition of 1.6GW by 2027. You will develop and maintain subject matter expertise on VPP orchestration capabilities and provide technical input and engineering sign off on proposed work by vendors, scrum teams and EPC suppliers. You will work closely with vendors and suppliers to keep abreast of changing orchestration ecosystem and adapt AGL’s VPP technology as required. You will also support VPP operations including analysis and continual improvement of fleet performance and responding to issues and outages.
What you’ll be doing:

Ensure projects are managed safely and to specification

Ensure that VPP projects can be orchestrated effectively through AGL’s systems

Work with the Trading Technology team to ensure that the technology is on track to deliver orchestration enablement when projects reach practical completion

Manage the budget of relevant projects, including capex, opex and budget spent with other AGL teams and vendors.

Set expectations and ensure delivery if quality documentation from the project team, subcontractors, consultants and vendors
About You:
You will be an experienced Engineer with project engineering / management experience in an energy, construction or technology environment. Your experience coordinating and managing sub-contractors and consultants utilising your advanced communication, interpersonal and influencing skills will set you up for success.
What you’ll bring to the table:

Tertiary qualifications in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering

A solid understanding and commitment to health and safety

Strong commercial, budgeting and reporting capabilities

Exposure to construction and / or battery storage projects is beneficial
