We are seeking a Senior Data Science Engineer to join our team, bringing expertise in machine learning, data science, statistics, applied mathematics, and analytics. In this role, you will develop and enhance systems that evaluate security tool data. You will identify key performance metrics and refine our scoring methods to understand their efficiency in various cybersecurity domains.

 

Prior cybersecurity expertise is not required.

 

What you will be doing as a Senior Data Science Engineer at SimSpace:

  • Enhancing cybersecurity assessments to more precisely measure the ability of organizations, teams, and individuals to respond to new threats.

  • Conducting in-depth evaluation and analysis of cybersecurity tool logs to identify key log entities and assess their relevance in scoring a tool’s efficacy and performance

  • Creating, analyzing, and integrating large-scale datasets into our platform to drive data-driven insights and enhance system capabilities

  • Improve scoring algorithms and automate evaluation processes for efficiency and accuracy

What are the qualifications to apply? To be successful as a Senior Data Science Engineer, you need to have:

  • At least 6+ years of professional Data Science experience or a PhD in a relevant field and significant professional Computer Science / Software Engineering experience.

  • Skilled at developing high-quality software that is clear, closely tracked, fully tested, and securely designed for reliability, speed, and easy maintenance.

  • Familiarity with machine learning and related topics like LLMs, Transformers, Reinforcement learning, Natural Language Processing, classification algorithms, supervised and unsupervised learning and recommendation systems.

  • Knowledge with some subset of the following libraries and tools(TensorFlow, PyTorch, Jax, Pydantic, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, Seaborn, Scikit-Learn, SQL and NoSQL databases)

  • Skilled with writing highly optimized code to accelerate intensive tasks.

  • Proficient in Python and git. Knows GitLab or GitHub. Aware of container systems and databases. Can use CI/CD. Experienced in handling multiple tasks at once using multithreading and multiprocessing. Good at communicating. Informed about the latest software development and testing methods.

  • Exemplary oral and written communication skills.

  • A problem-solver that is highly self-motivated, accepting of others’ opinions, and can work skillfully in a team.
