Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation for Government Acquisitions: Apply principles, theories, and methods of cost estimation to complex space systems, including satellites, launch vehicles, and ground systems.
  • Develop Cost Estimating Relationships (CERs): Use advanced statistical techniques to build CERs and support lifecycle cost modeling for space-related product lines.
  • Lead Life-Cycle Cost Estimates: Develop and present life-cycle cost estimates for major acquisitions, ensuring that they account for key cost and technical risk areas.
  • Data Analysis & Normalization: Collect, analyze, and normalize data to design cost estimating methods and models that align with industry best practices.
  • Risk Identification & Mitigation: Identify key cost and technical risks, assess their impact, and translate them into actionable insights for senior leadership.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Operations Research, Cost Analysis, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in cost estimation, modeling, or analysis in a government or defense-related environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and experience using statistical analysis tools and Monte Carlo simulations.
  • Experience in cost estimation methods, including parametric, analogy-based, and lifecycle cost estimating.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to present complex data and results to senior leadership in a clear and actionable manner.

Desired:

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Engineering, Operations Research, Cost Analysis).
  • Experience in Space Systems: Familiarity with space hardware (bus and payload), launch systems, satellite systems, or related ground systems (e.g., mission management, command and control, data centers).
  • Certifications: ICEAA Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst (CCEA) preferred.
  • Risk Analysis Software: Experience with software like @Risk or Crystal Ball for cost risk analysis.
  • Statistical Analysis Software: Proficiency in SAS, SPSS, or similar tools for data analysis.

Security Requirements:

  • TS/SCI with CI Polygraph clearance is required for this position.
