JOB SUMMARY:

This position requires advanced accounting skills, strong communication and partnership with Operations, and understanding of GAAP and SOX. This individual should be energetic and proactive who can consistently meet deadlines and produce accurate financial information. This position will report to the Controller and will be in Crawfordsville.  This position will also have supervisory responsibilities for the Cycle Counting Associates.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Daily/Weekly:

• Monitor cost accounting system for errors/weaknesses and pro-actively recommend ideas to improve processes and procedures.
• Review purchase price and material usage variances for appropriateness and corrective action.
• Review work order variances, determine cause, and correct variances.
• Enters costs for any un-costed parts on a timely basis.
• Own the Cycle Count process; including reviewing and approving cycle counts.
• Lead and assist with special projects and duties as assigned.

Monthly/Yearly:

• Prepare regular reports detailing labor hour performance, material purchase price variance, and inflation on purchased material. 
• Prepare the monthly labor and burden absorption forecast, including meeting with Supervisors and Managers for input.
• Prepare and review the Direct Material Inflation report monthly.
• Completes the annual Labor and Burden study.
• Complete the yearly cost roll process.
• Lead the month end close process for assigned areas, and assist in other areas.  Including preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Participate in the testing and documentation of SOX, including updating current information.
• Prepare and calculate the annual MIT accrual in accordance with IDEX policy.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

• B.S or B.A in Accounting, Finance or other related field.
• Candidates should have 5+ years of work experience in finance and accounting
• Experience in manufacturing setting preferred.
• Cost Accounting experience, including analyzing Cost Components, Labor and Burden rates

Other Special Requirements:

• Strong leadership, presentation skills, financial analysis, and ability to explain and communicate financial results in an understandable and actionable format for decision-making purposes.
• Strong computer skills and financial acumen.

Computer Skills:

• Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook
• Proficient with ERP and Reporting Tools with a preference for JDEdwards, OneStream and Webi
