Role Purpose
The Senior Compensation Specialist will be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of Wood Mackenzie’s broad-based global compensation programs.
They will ensure that pay practices are fair, competitive and aligned with business goals, conducting market benchmarking and analysis, and providing regular insights and recommendations.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop, communicate and administer compensation plans, policies and programs.
- Analyse market salary data to determine competitive compensation positioning.
- Research best practice and industry trends to identify potential areas for improvement in the company's overall compensation strategy.
- Provide subject matter expertise and advisory to business leaders and wider HR team on all compensation processes and programs.
- Reviewing and evaluating job profiles to determine appropriate job levelling and salary positioning.
- Monitor local regulations related to pay practices and support the developments that may come from audits or studies of compensation policies, programs and practices.
- Conduct thorough review of high-inflation locations (e.g. LatAm), and make considered recommendations on approach.
- Work closely with the HRIS Workday team to support configuration of Workday Advanced Compensation functionality to optimise compensation administration and management.
- Act as the subject matter expert for Workday compensation elements and data integrity including compensation plans, job architecture, eligibility rules, compensation elements and other related configurations.
- Managing cyclical activities including merit and bonus, LTI, promotion cycle, etc.
- Research and prepare key analytics and insights for regulatory, audit and advisory purposes as needed.
- Identify key market segments impacted by high competition for talent, and recommend compensation approaches accordingly.
- Support review of Sales and Commission Incentive programs.
- Provide key inputs to Talent Acquisition on new hire compensation.
About You
- The candidate will have experience in international broad-based compensation including base pay, short-term incentive and LTI programs
- Experience of Sales Incentive and commission plans would be an advantage
- You will ideally have experience using Workday, particularly the Advanced Compensation module, including leading on annual bonus and merit reviews in Workday
- You will ideally have knowledge of integrating Workday Advanced Compensation with other modules within the Workday ecosystem, such as Performance Management and Talent Management, to ensure seamless data flow across different HR functions
- You will have strong analytical skills and be familiar with using salary benchmarking software and methodologies. Experience using Willis Towers Watson global survey methodology is advantageous
- Experience of complex geographies, across a number of global locations will be beneficial
- You will have a Degree/ Diploma in HRM or a related subject, and ideally have a relevant HR or Finance professional qualification, or relevant experience
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, as is the ability to present data and information clearly
- Candidates should be prepared to be able to effectively manage their own workload and prioritise appropriately
- Excellent analytical and modelling skills are essential to succeed in this position, as well as effective communication and presentation skills
