As a Senior Architect for the Microsoft Platform, you will be responsible for implementing Zero Trust security architecture on the Microsoft 365 platform, improving the platform's security and resiliency. This role requires you to take full ownership of the Microsoft 365 platform as a product, driving its vision, strategy, and roadmap. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and Implement Zero Trust Architecture: Develop and implement a comprehensive Zero Trust security framework across the Microsoft 365 platform, ensuring all components are integrated and functioning effectively.
  • Product management: Taking ownership of a product, driving its vision, strategy, and roadmap, and managing stakeholder engagement, innovation, and performance metrics.
  • Security Strategy Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to define security strategies, policies, and procedures that align with Zero Trust principles.
  • Identity and Access Management: Align with the IAM team within security to improve the integration of Okta and Entra ID for optimal identity and access management solutions, including multi-factor authentication (MFA), conditional access policies, and least privilege access.
  • Data Protection: Ensure data protection measures are in place, including data loss prevention (DLP), encryption, and information rights management (IRM).
  • Threat Detection and Response: Implement advanced threat detection and response mechanisms, leveraging Microsoft 365 security tools such as Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Azure Sentinel, and Microsoft Cloud App Security.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards and implement governance frameworks to manage security risks.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies, and continuously improve the security posture of the Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Performance Metrics: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of the Microsoft 365 platform.
  • Operational activities: Oversee operational and administrative tasks, including monitoring, maintenance, incident management, and configuration management, to ensure optimal end-user experience.
  • Training and Awareness: Provide training and awareness programs to educate employees on security best practices and Zero Trust principles.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT product teams, including infrastructure, software and device management, and security teams, to ensure seamless integration and alignment of security measures across the organization.
  • Innovation: Work with technology and service partners to stay current on upcoming features, product technical challenges, and problem-solving.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and eleven years of related experience; or
  • Master’s degree in related discipline and nine years of related experience; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience/The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Microsoft 365 platform and Zero Trust architecture.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft 365 services Including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and related security features.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing zero-trust security architectures in complex environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure, security and other business or IT teams
  • Proven experience in implementing process improvements and technology changes based on best practices

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Ability to multitask, work collaboratively across a matrix organization, and ensure flexibility in a dynamic corporate and team environment 
  • Ability to leverage both internal and external resources to expedite and deliver projects 
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of general IT infrastructure technology, systems and management processes. Effectively work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, ability to quickly master new systems and/or processes, capacity to stay organized while managing competing priorities
  • Ability to thoroughly understand complex business and technical issues and influence decision making at all levels of the organization without formal reporting structure authority

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The base pay range for this position is $163,000 - $232,000 annually. The base pay range may take into account the candidate’s geographic region, which will adjust the pay depending on the specific work location. The base pay offered will take into account the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity, among other factors.

In addition to the base salary, as part of our Total Rewards program, Exelixis offers comprehensive employee benefits package, including a 401k plan with generous company contributions, group medical, dental and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, and flexible spending accounts. Employees are also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus program, or if field sales staff, a sales-based incentive plan. Exelixis also offers employees the opportunity to purchase company stock, and receive long-term incentives, 15 accrued vacation days in their first year, 17 paid holidays including a company-wide winter shutdown in December, and up to 10 sick days throughout the calendar year.
