Our division is comprised of leading student affairs experts who support our campus on pressing student life matters including public service, health, wellness, social justice, residential living, food services, sports, recreation, career services, and student activities and organizations including sorority and fraternity life. We provide support and services to roughly 25,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students on multiple campuses in the U.S. and abroad.

About The Centers for Student Equity, Empowerment, and Belonging
The Centers for Student Equity, Empowerment, and Belonging (The Centers) supports the holistic development of the student experience by creating engagement opportunities, support services, and initiatives focused on belonging, equity, and inclusion. The Centers is comprised of identity-based centers and offices that support and empower students from historically marginalized backgrounds while also providing all Cornell community members with opportunities to deepen their understanding of racial justice and equity, expand their allyship skills, engage in dialogue across differences, and be a part of the movement for positive social change.
The Opportunity

Cornell University’s Centers for Student Equity, Empowerment, and Belonging is seeking a Senior Administrative Coordinator to provide vital operational, logistical, and administrative support that helps advance our mission of creating an inclusive and empowering campus experience for all students.
The Senior Administrative Coordinator for the Centers for Student Equity, Empowerment, and Belonging reports to the Senior Associate Dean of Students and supports the collaborative development, management, and evaluation of The Centers in the Division of Student & Campus Life on Cornell University’s campus of 24,000 students. This position provides department-wide administrative and logistical support, which entails large-scale event coordination, departmental communications, budget tracking, and supervision of front desk staff. In addition, this role provides direct administrative support to the Senior Associate Dean of Students, including, but not limited to, scheduling and associated communications, travel, purchasing, and expense processing. With guidance from the Associate Dean of Student Empowerment, this position supports the work of the Access Fund, a critical service provided to low-income students. This work includes website updates, application processing, usage analysis, and communications with campus partners.

What We Need

- Associate’s degree with 4 to 6 years of administrative experience in higher education, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
- Experience in office operations, including front desk reception, space usage, event planning, office equipment, and supplies.
- Demonstrated experience hiring and supervising student workers.
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Passionate about working in an organization that values and promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism, well-being, and belonging.
- Experience building collaborative partnerships with faculty, administrators, students, parents/families, community partners, and alumni.
- Ability to work independently, efficiently, and effectively as part of a team on projects and assignments.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), Adobe, Box, Zoom, and other web-based platforms.
- Ability to occasionally work nights and weekends, as needed.

- Experience working in a complex organizational setting.
- Experience working with college student equity, diversity, empowerment, and belonging efforts.
- Knowledge of Cornell University and the Ithaca community.
- Experience hiring and supervising administrative support staff.
- Experience operating and troubleshooting AV equipment.
- Experience creating content for flyers, bulletin boards, social media, and marketing materials.
