Job Description

What You’ll Do:

The Sales Representative is responsible for identifying prospects’ needs, influencing decisions, and selling watercraft insurance products.

Reporting to the Marine Program Assistant Manager, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Quoting & selling watercraft insurance products by establishing contact with new client leads generated through a multitude of sources, developing relationships with prospects, answering incoming communications, following-up, re-quoting prospects from previous years and contacting leads assigned to you.
  • Creating a trusting environment that fosters referrals, new sales opportunities, and retention of existing business.
  • Actively participating within the sales team and independently to continuously contributing to overall business improvement.
  • Actively owning and resolving all customer inquiries, while ensuring the customers’ efforts are minimized.
  • Maintaining complete customer documentation, preparing correspondence, and documenting files for follow up.
  • Tackling complex insurance-related cases, creatively utilizing all available resources until full resolution is met.
  • Maintaining a current Applied EPIC base and promptly following up on all client communications.
  • Identifying opportunities to sell additional lines of business in our well-established client base then contacting the client to present the offer.
  • Keeping up to date on company underwriting guidelines and changing markets. We primarily broker with Aviva, Intact and April Marine.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Let’s Talk About You: 

This is the unique blend of skills and experience we would love to see in an ideal candidate:

  • A RIBO license 
  • Other national licensing is considered an asset.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience, preferably in watercraft or other lifestyle products. Specifically experience brokering with Aviva, Intact and April Marine.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the demonstrated ability to deal effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle customer issues in a pleasant and positive manner.
  • Works well independently and as part of a team
  • Superior time management and organizational skills to handle competing priorities.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications. Preference given to candidates with experience using Epic and Insurance company portals.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment/Hybrid 9:00-5:00pm or 10:00-6:00pm – Barrie Location.
  • Event support ie) Boat Shows/ Dealer Open Houses; may include occasional weekends and evenings.
