About the Sales Marketing Coordinator role
In this role, you will collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless activations and support sales efforts by developing compelling sales presentations alongside Account Executives. You will contribute to campaign strategies, oversee post-sales execution, and track performance. This role is crucial to driving growth and success across our Television, Streaming, and Digital platforms by fostering value-driven partnerships and delivering measurable results.
As a Sales Marketing Coordinator (SMC), you will become an expert in 9NEWS programming, the TEGNA Digital Product Suite, and sales tools. You will develop a deep understanding of how to create effective sales materials, manage ongoing sales initiatives, and execute digital media campaigns that drive optimal results for advertisers. Your expertise will be a key component of the ad solutions we deliver to clients.
The SMC will work closely with Account Executives, marketing, research, and production teams to understand advertisers' business needs and challenges, translating them into innovative advertising solutions that maximize ROI.

Responsibilities:
•    Project Management: Translates client needs into tailored advertising solutions, supporting Account Executives (AEs) throughout interactions with prospective and current advertisers. Possesses deep knowledge of TEGNA’s products, verticals, and solutions.
•    Sales Material Development: Creates compelling sales materials that outline strategic advertising solutions leveraging TEGNA’s products and services.
•    Solution Development: Collaborates with AEs throughout the ideation process to develop innovative ad solutions and client proposals.
•    Proposal Review & Presentation: Reviews proposals with AEs to ensure accuracy and effectiveness. May participate in proposal presentations to advertisers when needed.
•    Solution Deployment: Works with internal TEGNA teams to determine if existing solutions (e.g., TEGNA Marketing Solutions programs) can be utilized or if unique concepts need to be developed to achieve desired business outcomes.
•    Post-Sale Transition: Collaborates with AEs to ensure a seamless transition from sale to execution, coordinating with the Account Manager and fulfillment team.
•    Cross-Department Coordination: Serves as a liaison between the sales and news departments to launch sponsored content programs across linear and digital platforms.
•    Sponsored Content Management: Oversees social media posts and ad strategies related to sponsored content initiatives.
•    CRM & Campaign Management: Ensures AEs complete Campaign Briefs in CRW, acknowledges receipt, and gathers any additional information needed for campaign execution.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: 2+ years in a pre-sales solutions role, preferably within the advertising industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong PowerPoint skills for developing professional client-facing presentations.
  • Experience with CRM and Project Management software.
  •  Knowledge of TV and digital marketing.
  • Experience using social media ad platforms (Facebook Ad Manager preferred).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong proofreading skills, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all materials and communications.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Pay Range

$54,000$58,000 USD

Our 401(k) program offers full, part-time and temporary employees the opportunity to contribute 1% - 80% of their pay on a pre-tax basis to TEGNA’s 401(k). Contributions made up to the first 4% of pay are eligible for a 100% match from the company and are 100% vested from day one.

Regardless of participation in TEGNA medical plans, ALL employees and their eligible family members receive nine free virtual doctor’s appointments with a physician through Teladoc, and 12 free annual therapy sessions with a licensed clinician through Spring Health.

TEGNA offers a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) benefit as well as nine paid holidays per year.
